From the Fehervar website CERTIFICATE George Dobson is a Fehérvár FC player from next season! today, 3:15 p.m The hard-working English midfielder will join our team on July 1st . George Dobson has signed a contract with our club valid from July 1, 2024. The English midfielder was born on November 15, 1997, learned the basics of football as a young player at Arsenal and West Ham United, then played for Walsall, Wimbledon, Sparta Rotterdam in the Dutch top flight and Sunderland, before joining the long-established London club He transferred to Charlton Athletic. At Charlton, he became a real audience favorite and team captain due to his passionate and useful play, he has played 130 games in the last two and a half seasons, scoring 5 goals and providing 7 assists. After the 2021/2022 season, he became the club's player of the year, after the 2022/2023 season, he finished second in the voting. In recent days, our club has agreed on all terms with George Dobson's club regarding the immediate transfer in February, however, the London club backed out of the deal at the last moment, so the midfielder will be a player of our club from July 1st. "This time, the journalist colleagues had accurate information about this transfer, until Sunday it seemed that George Dobson could join us before the February 14 deadline. However, his current club withdrew from the transfer at the last second, despite the fact that the parties had agreed on all conditions in writing, the young midfielder's family had already moved, and our club organized the usual medical examinations and paperwork. We are sorry that it turned out this way, we are waiting for George during the summer preparations, and in our opinion, we still managed to strengthen the midfield of our team with Dávid Sigér in such a way that we can look forward to the rest of the season with optimism", pointed out the details of the Vidi executive, Attila Balogh.

The fact the “nicest” thing people are saying about Dobson is “he gives 100%” sums him up and where the club is that one of our better current players is summed up that way. Well, here are some other things people say about him. He is our best defensive midfielder and his forward passing ability is the best in an admittedly crap team. Curbs perceptively said he is the one player who would make it into one of his teams and Brownie agreed. The fact that he is underappreciated by the man who brought you Fiorini, Bakinson, Ladapo etc tells you everything. Also BB doesn't rate him. 'Nuff said. Well said sir. Seems Scott is clueless. Curbs and Brownie better be careful what they say , Scott doesn't like people with differing opinions to his. DOBBO , has been shafted , By a bunch of arrogant pricks

Jones got involved and put a stop to this.
Guess seeing from himself there isn't anyone better than George in this team for his position

The young midfielder's family have moved. To where and why if Dobson is not joining until July . What sort of idiocy has beset Charlton now ? My God this club is now a complete nonsense and if Nathan Jones signed up to this as an opportunity 😳, what sort of opportunity was he looking for ? I have been a supporter since 1956 and I can honestly say I only go now because of friends a a soccer mad 9 year old gran daughter. What sort of black book as Scott got. He got in two defenders from the Championship who were obviously rejects at their own clubs. He got in two new wing backs and we still play the old ones. Why not play Edun and Small on one side and Ramsey and Watson T on the other at least they would know each had cover and two more who could tackle would be added to an otherwise biteless bunch of sad O's 😔 Then pick 2 CBs plus Dobbo if he is still around or Coventry plus Camara.

This with bells on it Small and Edun can inter change knowing they both can defend and attack. Same the other side with Ramsey and Watson.Play 4-4-2

Are you saying he has stopped George from leaving the club? Yes until end of the season That should make all those that think George Dobson is the next Claude Makélélé happy. Presumably if George comes back into the side, now, we should go on a run of ten straight wins, all with clean sheets - what with him being the best player in our squad, and the only one that cares about the club or gives 100% when he plays. Thanks heavens for that. Relegation fears all gone!

No way is he a pretty average L1 midfielder who only looks like more because his teammates are even more limited in talent. In fact he might just be imho the best footballer on Earth. Why else were all-conquering *Googles* Fehervar (2012 Hungarian League Cup Winners, no less) the only team interested in signing him on a free this summer.

No one is saying he is Makelele but we have a better chance with him in the team than some of shit we got from Scott's signings Maybe, but we haven’t won in 13 games and haven’t kept a clean sheet for 19 games and he played in all but the last few of those. You, obviously, know George and, clearly, have a very, very high opinion of him. I’m not saying that you are wrong, just that I’m not, personally, convinced that our chances of survival are improved with him in the side. I, certainly, don’t think he will make a big difference, but I’m happy to be proved wrong - especially if it keeps us out of the fourth division. However, like Mundell, I find it strange that, of all the clubs in the world, only one was interested in signing him on a free transfer. Either his wage demands are way too high or none of the other clubs rated him. I find it difficult to believe that all the clubs, as well as Andy Scott, are wrong and a handful of Charlton fans are right.

To be fair, I do go on Twitter as well as other message boards, even though I don’t post on them, and I have read at least one fan make all of those claims above - save for mentioning Claude Makélélé, that exaggeration was all me, to make a point.

Perhaps NJ has looked at Edun and Watson and realized that Scott's opinion of footballers is utter crap. Therefore his opinion of Dobson is worthless and should stay and lead the team to safety, with a bonus in it for him.

I understanding what you are saying but he has been our best player in the passed to seasons. He is our best midfielder and we need all the help we can to get out this mess. There was a lot of EFL asking after him but Scott wanted £500k to sell him to a EFL club and no-one is going to pay that when you can get him for free in the summer. It's a risk for him to till wait to the end of the season incase of a big injury and if it did happen Charlton/Scott are not going to look after him.

I’d like to think we would of done a little better if the rest of the squad had a little bit more of his DNA in their blood system- not technically gifted but at least he had some fire in his belly - I will miss him if nobody else does

I think it's obvious the board didn't want to give in to what Dobbo was wanting to put him as a high earner when over the summer we sign better quality players for Dobbo to then sit on the bench. Why waste money? If Dobbo was worth it other EFL clubs would have signed him on a pre contract agreement like the Hungarian side did so I don't believe there was much interest if any.

Dobson is, to a certain degree, a limited player, but he's also a player who's bloody good at what he can do. I'd (and I hope OUR MANAGER is behind this) willingly forego 100K and have him in the side for the rest of the season.
We're a third division team with a real chance of relegation, we need every bloody help we can muster.

Photo of Dobson in there shirt. No there isn't a picture of him in their shirt at all. he's holding it and even that is dubious from what I have been reading. Looks liek Nathan Jones has intervened in this, I hope that's the case because we need somebody like him to make Andy Scott look like the real wanker he is.
