The most predictable tactics I have ever known a Charlton manager to have. All left side to Blckett-Taylor and from there he has to look for May or score himself. Appleton hasn't got the brain capacity or coaching skills to do anything else.

Either Appleton provided a fantastic interview or was told he'd get paid peanuts. Been a worse appointment than the last 5

Plenty of unrest towards manager & players at full time.
This isn’t acceptable.

We need a manager not a head coach. We need decent coaches. We need a head of scouting. We don’t need a technical director/director of football. We need a decent ceo.

Squad needs a complete overhaul IMO. It needs a 2011/12 type window! There’s only about 3/4 players who are worthy in that team.
Just not sure Appleton is the one to carry that team.
January can’t come soon enough!

January can’t come soon enough! Only Dobson & May are consistent, and the latter is being played out of position too often by that clown Appleton. The rest of them are not worth a toss - throw a blanket over them ‘ you couldn’t distinguish them from L2 players.

Up there with Russell Slade for the most pointless appointment we’ve made. No one thought it would work and it hasn’t. Didn’t think he’d last the whole season. That said the team needs a massive rebuild.
The mentality of the team is shit. He can put that down to age/inexperience, but ultimately it comes down to the manager.

1 away league win in 10.
No away wins in 4 cup games
Charlton’s woeful away form by now bringing home a win continues this season
Now 3 clean sheets in 22 league games
1 clean sheets in 8 cup games

Worst appointment since Rolands Mate (Frayre?) who hid in the laundry basket some years ago rather than speaking to the press. Just look as Appleton's previous, Blackpool, West Brom, Pompey, Blackburn, Oxford Utd, Leicester and Lincoln. Sacked from most with probably a decent pay off. Just a Mercenary Manager/Coach waiting to be sacked. No affiliation or affection for our club. What a ridiculous appointment. Somebody should be held responsible. When I think some people slagged Lee Bowyer off makes me wonder about their knowledge of Football!

The way we are performing now is giving me the same if not worse vibes than when Holden was in charge with all the injuries he had to contend with.

The saying goes you can’t judge a book by its cover. The same applies to human beings. His outward demeanour and appearance is one of a burglar about to go on a job but without his SWAG bag. In effect he isn’t.
I always thought him to be a hard bastard, someone who would put the wind up the players, give them a bollocking when things went wrong - a manager who would be vocal from the touch line, Bowyer was never reluctant to drop the f word in his words of encouragement. But this guy seems to be a blancmange dressed as a steak pie.
Very disappointed in the man and his methods.

Appleton needs at least this window to bring in his OWN players, after this hopefully the rest of the season can improve.

Life is full of paradoxes and here’s another one. Right now many of the club’s fans wouid probably be very happy if Michael Appleton was sacked. Nevertheless, if that happens it would be a big red flag and the first genuinely alarming development since SE7 acquired the club.
Appleton has lost three league games in sixteen. It’s not been great, to say the least, but does that record really justify mass hysteria? We don’t want short sighted, reactionary decision making.

It’s not been great, to say the least, but does that record really justify mass hysteria? We don’t want short sighted, reactionary decision making. You take a very different view Mundell and that’s to be respected. It’s the Sergeant Wilson outlook on supporting a football club. “Oh, what a frightful mess” …..followed eventually by “don’t panic”. Your comment about SE7 Partners big red flags though really doesn’t stand up to scrutiny, and i suspect that you know it. Here’s a few SE7 Partners 🚩 Andy Scott claiming on Dec 2022 that he wouldn’t be here if there wasn’t a competitive transfer budget in Jan 2023. Andy Scott then signing Bonne, Kilkenny, Kane and Penney in January 2023. Three Cup defeats this season to teams below us in the football pyramid. The performances v Cray Wanderers and away at Gillingham - right up there with the worst in our history. Hiring and then firing Dean Holden. Replacing him with Appleton - let’s be honest - nobody thought this was an upgrade or a good appointment, and it hasn’t been. I’d say there’s six big fat 🚩 there alone Mundell 🤔 I think you’d probably agree, if you hadn’t become strangely emotionally invested in SE7 Partners, and their childish hocus pocus about marginal gains, and breaking the mould, and doing things differently. If Sergeant Wilson had been in the away end at Brisbane Road yesterday , £100 down the toilet to watch a team incapable and unwilling to do the basics, even he would have lost his fabled cool. Perhaps it’s time that fans like you demanded a bit more, and tolerated a bit less ?

I am old school and think stability is needed with managers. Appleton needs at least this window to bring in his OWN players, after this hopefully the rest of the season can improve. The point of the new structure is that there's no longer a concept of a manager's 'own players'. He should have some input into the process of course, and as an experienced coach in particular any extremely strong negative views on proposed players should be taken seriously, but ultimately it has to be the decision of Scott. It's perfectly reasonable however to argue that the structure is suboptimal and/or the people involved incompetent.

I love this club and always will , but this current crop of charlatans is really pushing me to the brink . Never have seen a team , with two or three exceptions who don’t give a shit . The manager doesn’t have a clue and for look like he wants to be here , and god knows what Scott does with his time .. The whole thing is a fucking mess .
