As Brownie says, needs to be a good coach. Very young squad who will need to be coached well in order to do well.

Whoever it is if appointed in the next day or so, he will have almost two weeks before our next match, which is useful.

Exactly - as a number of us have been saying ad nauseam - and this rules out several of the bookies’ favourites, including Lee Bowyer. We don’t want or need a ‘traditional’ manager who wants ‘control’.

He would be a good choice he’s got knowledge of this division and would make us solid he’s straight talking too.

He is a great coach with a history of getting the best out of a young squad.. just look at the job he done at Oxford and Lincoln both had young electric squads!

According to Richard Cawley, Moore declined to comment on any approach by us or of any talks he may have had. Read into that what you will.

But Cowley did that at Lincoln before Appleton replaced him and replicated it. Warming to the possibility of Cowley. He has an impressive career record of a 50.3% win percentage. The only negative percentage was his spell at Huddersfield. I know they may have been in different divisions, but Cowley had a 53.5% win percentage at Lincoln, compared to Appleton's 38.5%.

My 3 would be Cowley,Moore or Bows I’d be happy with any of them assuming Jones would be out of reach

Not sure why people think Jones is out of reach or wouldn't want to drop down or come back. He was quite happy to return to Luton after things went wrong at Stoke.

So the fact he returned to a Championship club after a year away from them means he will return to a League One club after ten years away from them? Give your head a wobble mate, lol!

I think Jones would drop down to L1 without any question given the opportunity. Not sure why some see him as a manager who is above our station. Sometimes you have to drop down a level to start again. He isn't going to carry on from where he left off that's for sure.

I think I spotted Nathan Jones on MOTD last night talking to Neal Maupay at the Brentford game, I would guess he is currently working there in some capacity.

I actually think it will be Nathan Jones now. If they’ve not spoken to him I’d be surprised. Although I’d not be disappointed if Pearce where given a go!

Jon Brady now quite high on the odds.
We need someone in for the long term. Would quite like Nathan Jones tbh. Assume we will find out later this week.

No sorry pal but I just feel we need a completely fresh pair or experienced coaching eyes without the pressure of being ‘one of our own’. Darren Moore commands respect in the game … Jones is either brilliant or a total dud as far as his coaching career is concerned. As much as anything the preferred playing style of the main candidates need to be considered and compared with the playing staff that Scott has provided the successful applicant.
