Let's be honest, none of us expect to see him play for us again, do we?
He might come off the bench, a few times a season, and amble around like he's struggling to move, but he is not a professional athlete or sportsman, on an level, any more.
Ironically, I don't begrudge him taking the money and with Jackson, Gallen and the Sandgaard having all gone, now, there is no one at the club, that I can identify, that was involved in bringing him back and giving him a three and a half year contract, when it was clear to everyone that he's never, really, going to be fit.
A combination of us being desperate, the player's agent being clever and Thomas Sandgaard being such an arrogant narcissist left us in this position. The new owners will have been aware of the situation and, I suppose, would have had to account for Aneke's wages as part of the purchase price of the club.
I would love for him to get fit and play - a fit Aneke has a lot to offer, and I'd cheer him on. I just don't see it happening.

Does it really matter when he's back...realistically we will get 4/5 games out of him before he's longterm injured. Keep him fit till Christmas then get rid... Colchester/gills/Wimbledon will take a punt on him

Agreed, and while Aneke, Kirk and McGrandles are under contract until June 2025, the rest of the squad that SE7 Partners inherited had end dates of 2023 or 2024. Let's hope for less mistakes AND a more coherent approach to recruitment thouout this and the 2024 windows.

If we put out a rumor that Liverpool want to buy Aneke then we can collect £50m+ from Chelsea

It must be at least two months since Chuks injury and no indication he is training with the aquad. This cannot be normal for a calf strain.

Chuks update … he’s under contract until June 2025 and will not play more than a couple of hours in aggregate until then whilst receiving many thousands of £££s per week.
The management genius that is T Sangaard will continue to haunt us for the next couple of years.

A calf injury does not take months to heel, another load of bullocks we are being told . This guy probably won’t play much more football

Agreed, a lot of Aneke’s issues are mainly mental as partly physical allegedly and when it is, it’s best just to wish him well and hope he gets the inner demons worked out. When some bemoan his fragilities it doesn’t solve a thing and just makes things worse.
First things first let’s get him playing off the bench first and take it from there with games now last 100 minutes plus he could still prove valuable even with initial limited playtime.

Even in this game he was only on for a couple of minutes before collapsing and being carried off . He was out for a spell before this as well . I do feel for him but really he should pack it in and walk away .

Aneke’s last match was in the league game at the Valley against Sheffield Wednesday on the 25th February. He came on as a sub in the 57th minute, pulled his hamstring and left the field of play in the 81st minute.
I feel desperately sorry for him. The decision to offer him a 3.5 year contract will remain a poster child for Captain Bullshit’s narcissism and catastrophically poor judgement.

How long does it take for a torn calf muscle to heal?
Grade 1: The muscle is stretched causing some small micro tears in the muscle fibres. Recovery typically takes approximately 2 to 4 weeks if you do all the right things.
Grade 2: There is partial tearing of muscle fibres. Full recovery can take approximately 4 to 8 weeks with good rehabilitation.
