Very pleased with this news. Iâm going to post something on the SE7 takeover CAFC thread because I think thereâs an aspect of this announcement which has relevance to that discussion.

Would hope that Scott could negotiate some very decent Championship/ premiership loans with his contacts in the game

Iâm going to post something on the SE7 takeover CAFC thread because I think thereâs an aspect of this announcement which has relevance to that discussion. Good to keep the SE7 Partners takeover and new look SMT in one place. Just to reiterate that Scott was in at the ground floor at Brentford, first as manager and the Technical Director. Four years that we all know went incredibly well for them. In addition he went on to help build the Forest promotion squad and next summer the improvements to help ensure Forest stayed up in the EPL. He will be respected by people in the game. The challenge is for the SMT to now fully assess the first XI and squad at 5pm on 5th August. Then ship out those who won't contribute whilst targeting the right players. And secure the right budgets from GFP/SE7 for Scott to then deliver the targets.

After all the shite we've had to put up with over the last 10 years, it's so good to hear from professional people now running the club. Very good interview, looking forward to the season, please, please get us out of this shitty league!

A text book interview. Impressive and very likeable. I guess our personal reactions to other people often say as much about us as they do about the other person, but what I like most about Andy Scott is his humility. Despite his obvious experience and impressive CV he appears to have no ego and, in my view, that should mean heâll be easy to work with and for. Iâm a fan. What a contrast to the dear departed Captain Bullshit.
Eat your hearts out all those who were convinced that Charlie Methven is a wrong âun. He appears to be playing an absolute blinder.

All Talk, No Actions! Itâs difficult when the owners wonât show any money though. How do you know that though mate? Would imagine the summer transfer budget was at least top 6 so surely we have to question yet again how the money is being spent Camara wouldnât have been cheap and if the rumours about how much we are paying towards Tedic wages are true then some serious questions need to be asked in the recruitment dept

Scott had better come up with the goods in January. I hoping AS can get across to SE7 that REAL additions need to be made IF they want to achieve reaching the Play Offs.

Itâs very easy to be cynical, but thatâs another good interview in my view. The proof of the pudding is always going to be in the eating. Outcomes obviously matter, but you only get sustainably good outcomes through good processes and itâs very clear SE7 is taking action to modernise the football side of the club and that we are spending money to achieve that objective. Thatâs encouraging and it ought to tilt the odds in our favour in the medium to long term.

You can only judge Andy Scott based on what heâs done so far.
He hired & then fired Dean Holden in short order.
He told us in December 2022 that there was a competitive budget in the January 2023 transfer window, and there wasnât.
He signed 4/5 bad players in that window.
This summer (2023) most of his signings with the exceptions of May & Jones havenât worked out.
By any reckoning, a near 90% failure rate on signings in the past year calls into question Scottâs competence.
Taylor x 2, Thomas, Isted, Ched Campbell, Tedic etc - not good players, and certainly not Championship players.
The big question now is whether our recruitment is so bad due to Scott, or the tiny budget he is working with.

Andy Scott admitted last night that the five signings in January were his.
No ambiguity -they were on him.
All crap - Bonne, Kane, Penney, Kilkenny, and Hector.
Isnât this concerning?
Had a DM from a fan present who said Scott talked the talk but came across as a âglib tosserâ at times.
I wonder if the Poundland Mitrovic (Tedic) will be returned by Scott in January ? He certainly ducked & weaved on his record last night, claiming that all clubs are after the same good players.

Which was refreshing Iâd be interested to understand the level of scrutiny that Scott is subjected to . My current understanding is - not a lot. Heâs got an arms length working relationship with the myriad of investors, and can basically bluff them that all is going well. I wonder what metric (if any) is being used to evaluate the success of his 15-17 signings so far ? Surely a point will be reached where he canât bluff it any longer. January is going to be interesting. Signing an unproven 20-22 year old on loan with Scott telling us heâs âhighly promising â, will no longer cut the mustard.

Not entirely sure what this fan was referring to but they admitted errors in the transfer market towards the end of the window. Which was refreshing Disco just out of interest mate, did you come out of the meeting feeling a lot more optimistic than when you went in? Did they make you feel like we were heading in the right direction? I like what they have said but actions speak louder than words. Iâm on the cautious side to be honest as weâve been there before with previous ownership. Although, I like the fact they acknowledged their mistakes towards the end of the window and they realised they need to strengthen all areas. I made the point about our atrocious defending and lack of clean sheets this season and they understood. Basically if they action what they say theyâre going to do then Iâll be optimistic.
