I know we’ve had years of shit from various owners, but I must admit our supporters are probably the most doom and gloom merchants ever. No patience. Let’s wait and see what happens then we can all cheer or moan.

How can you cut more costs on what is a basic shell as it is. Exactly my sentiments, there is fuck all to cut. If it was true the new owners are gonna be really disappointed if they are to think they can save money, promotion is the only way they can get something back and that's even debatable in the championship. |

We could go out and bring in 5/6 players today very easy .. not sure they will be the calibre the fans want .. and sure they would moan about that as well . If we are going after better players so will other clubs be after the same , and as we know once a player / agent has more then one club after them it takes time. |

That isn’t to say we may get lucky with frees and loans (as per the CP season) but some people may need to lower their expectations. Some fans on that group just want the new lot to fail full stop,without even giving them a chance,hopefully we get a few signings in quickly so it can give them something else to moan about.

If the source is from the Saangaards, we all know their business acumen! A last reprieved to discredit the potential new owners? We have bidded for May so that straight away contradicts his claims.. It contradicts Simon Jordans claims on talksport about the people coming in being football people and the ambitions being solid. Secondly, making cuts etc just isn't plausible. These guys are not idiots and will understand this. Saangaard and his irrelevant son dont understand how to run a football club as we all sadly know. Hence why Martin has probably made this assumption. Do we really think either has the knowhow to properly read and understand the submitted information. Rant over. CL the gift that keeps on giving. |

Guys once again pay no attention to the lies posted on that forum this morning. It shows CL up for what it is and they need to be careful about making statements in the public domain that are factually incorrect.
I have checked these claims out, it is all available out there if you look and the truth is any new buyer does not have to sumbit ANY figures or any numbers at all to the EFL to show how much money they are worth and how much they will be spending, that's not part of the OADT test.
The OADT procedure is that the EFL ask the CLUB to submit it's numbers, not the buyers. Once they have done so the EFL then ask the group who want to buy the club for proof of identity and evidence that they can fund the numbers submitted by Charlton Athletic Football Club for the next two years at the current batting rate.
That is the process, it's fact and there is no way around it. This Jay character is just spinning lies. They are the only figures the EFL ask to see, nothing else, so clearly what this guy is saying is pure fiction and we'll have that confirmed when the OADT is passed.

Thanks for posting as this makes the process very clear. The takeover took longer than hoped to reach a signed SPA but we're here now. And things will ideally complete by mid July. As a result the new owners will takeover a month into this window - a few weeks lost but no biggie. As posted before, let's await the announcement, introduction of the new SMT, and see who we actually sign. Our first XI plus subs used, our first 18 through August and September will demonstrate the ambition, ability and budgets of the new owners. Rumours at this stage are just that. |
