So would I … waving him off to his new club! Agree 100% JK.. a lightweight who doesn’t impact a game… I would be v interested to learn who identified and sanctioned signings such as Kirk Lavelle DJ?? We paid money which has been totally wasted.

Sanctioned by the key decision maker TS via the recruitment skills of MS and Gallen, Time for a complete new broom in this area of our club, It reeks of the mentality of someone that has played something like Championship Manager where the long term success comes from buying young players, waiting for them to develop them selling them for a profit and using that money to buy another young player and repeat. The issue is that the players have not been good enough for what we need so they have been 'valued' too highly. Clare was another one that, I assume, was bought with an eye on selling for a profit. The idea is not without merit but it does require that all signings improve our team and develop into better players. We have been very poor at identifying the former and, it would appear, average, at best, at the latter.

We have been very poor at identifying the former and, it would appear, average, at best, at the latter. It also requires the very best in sports science as well as a certain ambition at the club such that players stretch themselves. Take a look at Brentford and Brighton over the years. They've spent money, yes. But also sold a massive amount of talent AND progressed on the pitch at the same time. Every club requires a decent technical director to oversee the whole process.

"Released" now means they are out of contract. Surely if we wanted to renew their contracts these renewals would have been offered a few months ago. Holden had only just joined the club and needed to get to know the players, and just because he picked them doesn't mean they would be in the long term plans.
But we need to know what kind of budget we are going to get as to whether we can attract better or whether this is the best we'll get - enough to keep us in this division but not take us any higher.l
Ryan Inniss was one of our best players of the 2020-21 season when he was fit. But I guess the injuries too their toll. His weakness has been his rashness, getting himself sent off too many times or giving away penalties when he should have held his ground.
Of course, defenders at all levels give away penalties, and I guess the occasions he flies in, connects with the ball and makes a vital challenge to prevent a likely goal, it isn't noticed as much as when it goes wrong?
