Jealousy is not an attractive trait, but I'm sure we all feel it! The irony is that Sangaard could have done all that (not got us into League 2, I mean, though he almost suceeded) and got all of the plaudits that those two have had. It would have involved making good decisions in appointing the right people and concentrating on the funding and marketing of the club to other investors rather than being an incompetent CEO. That what the Wrexham two have done and will have to keep doing if they want to move forward. I like what they have had to say so far, so well done Wrexham and good luck to their fans. The big difference, in my view, is that Reynolds and McElhenney wanted to be fans, and wanted to 'support' the club and the team. I've watched the TV show and they both come across as genuine and seem to want to be 'accepted' by the Wrexham fans, as one of their own. Sandgaard wanted to be 'adored' by the Charlton fans. Reynolds looks distraught in some clips when Wrexham, are losing and looks like I feel when they win. The clips of Reynolds in the pub show him having a drink and chatting to fans and the landlord. The clips of Sandgaard in the Oak show him playing his guitar to a small audience of fans. That is, in my view, the difference between Reynolds, McElhenney & Sandgaard. The success is, actually, irrelevant. It's the motivation and the modesty of the actors compared to the ego of the narcissist. Even if none of them were rich and/or famous I suspect that Reynolds and McElhenney would be good company and good fun to be around whereas I suspect that Sandgaard is neither. Great post.

Obviously some don't care to talk about Wrexham, but the fact is that they might have taken over any club. Of course we can all talk down the National League standards and await Wrexham's attempts at League Two. But what the owners have done there is somewhat spectacular when it comes to promoting the club and social media - see the link below. Not only have they multiplied subscribers on all platforms eightfold but Wrexham regularly secure 1M+ views for certain clips. When I saw the missed penalty clip on a couple of hours after the event, that had already achieved 1.5M views! On the footballing side we know it costs at the top of League One plus one wonders how long they might stick with Phil Parkinson. But I'd reserve any judgement until they play at a particular level. Once again the marketing has been spectacular. But I've no idea how that converts to revenue nor whether that will make a dent in losses as the wage bill inevitably grows. In comparison the marketing at CAFC has been all over the place these last few years. But we do know that success on the pitch will always sell out the big games as well as adding at least a couple of thousand to the average gate. www.wrexhamafc.co.uk/news/2023/february/how-wrexham-afc-has-grown-as-we-mark-the-second-anniversary-of-the-clubs-takeover/#:~:text=On%20the%20first%20anniversary%20of,FA%20Trophy%20Final%20at%20Wembley. Driving views is a shit ton easier when you have a famous actor owning the club. Rob McElhenney has 1m followers on Twitter and Ryan Reynolds has 21.2m. They both post links to videos about Wrexham. I suspect that much of the interest in the club in the US is driven by the interest in the actors. Just for reference Liverpool FC's official Twitter account only has 23.5m followers. Their aggregated social media followers touching 2M earlier in April just two months after hitting 1.5M. For comparison Palace have 1.5M on Twitter alone but far fewer hits for each tweet at 30-60,000 a pop. Naturally there will be a big Wrexham following in US and Canada - wonder how many pay to watch games live? And how many views Welcome to Wrexham series 2 will secure when released? Meanwhile Parkinson announces that they're reviewing players out of contract and who's available for next season from elsewhere. My instinct suggests that they will gradually evolve the squad over the next few windows, rather than boot the majority into touch over the summer. If only somebody had the cash and sense to do the same at CAFC.

We’d still batter Wrexham with all due respect Really? Since when has it been my NEW club? You can't have the history i've had with them and not be involved years later. As a family we have a lifelong involvement that far outweighs that of any other club my old man has represented. Charlton wouldn't batter them at all but nobody has even nentioned that so I think you need to stop being so childish and immature about it. Didnt you call for protests on CL last week? Why may I ask? Think you have let yourself down with that post fella. Not a good idea posting things about something you would never understand. I’m not on CL, doesn’t surprise me they’ve called for it though gives them something to do

I just watched this and it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
I hate them but, I think, only because I am so jealous of them!

I just watched this and it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I hate them but, I think, only because I am so jealous of them! Jealous that they've gone from Tractor sponsors on the shirts to United Airlines... with a sleeve sponsorship by HP providing brand new laptops and IT kit to all at the club?! There's a big fat lie in the trailer BTW: Losing IS part of the script!!! They've bought in at the ground floor, and have invited a global audience to join them on the journey. Wrexham could be anywhere, any club. Digital media following fast approaching 5M FFS! They can afford the losses. And if they don't meet targets on the pitch then the manager gets about five and a half minutes to clear his desk!!! Can't wait for season 2 coming out in September 😉 Compare and contrast to our owners - past and present.

But only 11 players on pitch next Saturday, of which three played for us in the past.
We probably all want to get one over on Wrexham in front of our biggest crowd at the Valley since the 2019 play-offs. But the real challenge is to finish ahead of 18 other clubs in this division.
And to do that we need the right leadership, right coaching, and the right backing for contract extensions plus new signings in 2025.
This game coming up is important not just for the points, but also the coverage in the US where our owners are based.
No idea whether the owners of either club will be at The Valley, but some will watch a live stream from somewhere. It's been my take, and several other posters, that the owners will be paying close attention to this phase of the season.
A mix of turbulence last year and recent progress has been an interesting ride that sees us just one point outside the top six. Let's hope these next couple of games help us climb a few spots in the table.

For that's our real benchmark when it comes to commercial revenues... and competition when signing players. Wrexham are on a par with the smaller EPL clubs.
