Said before owners come and go .. managers and players come and go …. But I am there come what May to support the 11 red shirts on the pitch . ST will be brought as soon as announced Bexley, all you’ve done is give Sandgaard some money to keep the lights on a bit longer.. if, as a fanbase, we hold out, it might just force a sale by keep £1-2 million out of the coffers for him to steal.. just my opinion.. I have just mentioned this in the takeover thread BigAndy. Granted it's a bit rich for me a non-season ticket holder to ask those that are to hold back for the time being but if they want Sandgaard gone that is what they have to do. I have it on good authority that he is relying on ST sales revenue to keep plodding along aimlessly for as long as he can and while he's doing that he is inflicting more debt on the club and adding to the cost to buy it.

We have no assets, he'll sell leaburn whatever happens. Sandgaard hasn't paid a bill for 6 months and the he's obviously not raising money.

Perhaps run another poll in light of takeover news and the impending Early Bird deadline? The situation has shifted a little in that we know there's another bid but no clarity just yet.

Charlton, for better or worse, are in my blood. So against my better judgement, it's a season ticket for me. In saying that, I've decided to hold off until the early bird deadline. Hopefully something positive will happen in the interim.

Isn’t it only a £25 discount?.. keep your money as your seat will be there for a very long time.. I think it went up £50 after the early bird discount last year, but I could be wrong about that. Either way I didn't buy one. I was happy to wait and to pay the higher price if we put together a decent squad, but we didn't. The same will apply this summer if, whomever the owner is, the club sign players that I think will make it worth attending most of the games I'll bite the bullet and buy a season ticket, again. If not then I'll pay as I go and watch as many games as seem worth it.

I think my seat was £575 and after early bird £625. Surely they won't expect £675 this year?... Mmmmmm.. I suppose they will.

I think my seat was £575 and after early bird £625. Surely they won't expect £675 this year?... Mmmmmm.. I suppose they will. The problem is that once the price goes up it becomes the benchmark price for the next season. The club has used the bullshit marketing by saying that the price hasn’t gone up, for two years now. When in reality the ‘not gone up price’ is the after early bird price on year one being the early bird price in the following year. The reality is that in comparison to other days or evenings out the cost of football has risen to a price where just going is not enough. For the price being ‘demanded’ nothing less that a win and/or a great game is acceptable. Football is more expensive that the cinema or a meal at a pub/restaurant. So the entertainment/enjoyment needs to match up. £675 (assuming another £50 increase) to watch third division football is extortionate.

I see that the club have increased the prices of the Zone 1 season tickets by a mere £5, or less than 22p per game!
That should give an indication as to how many we’ve sold in those areas. Obviously the marketing team (Sandgaard) misjudged the number of fans that will pay those prices for the shit he’s served up for the last three seasons.
I can’t wait for that arse to be gone from our club!

A touch of spin as the early bird deadline was extended this year. The CASTrust survey indicated a far higher number of fans were gonna hold out for a Sandgaard exit. What matters is who we sign once the window opens and ST sales for the start of the season - with the right marketing we could get close to 10,000 again.

I've said I'll wait until non-toxic new owners have been in place for a while (perhaps an entire season) before returning to The Valley. There have been too many false dawns as we've bounced from one bad owner to another, so I want to be 100% sure we're owned by people with Charlton's best interests at heart before I end my boycott of 7+ years.
Today's email about matchday prices suggests that even when I do return it might not be with a ST (something I had for most of 30 years previously). I usually sit in the middle of West Stand Lower, ie Zone 1. A season ticket there is £630 (up from the £625 early bird price!).
The matchday price is £30 which equals £690 for the season. Add in the likelihood of a Football For A fiver game and it's £665 for the season. There may well be other discounts (such as buy tickets to two games, get a free ticket for a third) over the course of the season, but even if not I'd only need to miss two of the 23 home games for the season ticket to actually cost £25 MORE than matchday tickets.
In reality I probably average 4-5 missed home games in a season when a ST holder (due to family events, train strikes or other travel issues - I don't drive and live 60 miles from Charlton, work commitments, etc). I don't think that's an unusual number for an ST holder to miss and hopefully new owners will rethink the pricing for the 2024-5 season.
A discount of £1.53 per game on matchday prices (which is what an ST holder in Zone 1 gets even if they CAN attend every game) doesn't seem much of an incentive to me, especially not during a cost-of-living crisis. Today's email is headed "Season Ticket Discounts Revealed!" which I don't process in as positive a way as Sandgaard's crew presumably intended!

Today's email is headed "Season Ticket Discounts Revealed!" which I don't process in as positive a way as Sandgaard's crew presumably intended! You are 100% right in your analysis. These prices have convinced me that there is no point in me buying a season ticket unless I am guaranteed to go to, at least, 20 games - and then it's marginal, assuming no discounts during the season. The season ticket saving is less for an adult than it is for an over 65 (which is what my Dad is) but the same logic applies- and he is away for most of the winter anyway. The only thing I would point out, in relation to your figures, is that you don't seem to have taken into account the £1.50 'admin' fee for buying your tickets online, and I assume over the phone. Clearly that works out at only 75p if buying two tickets, and less if more tickets or buying for more than one game, at a time, are purchased. The pricing is, very, disingenuous, however, as the season ticket prices have gone up and the match by match prices have come down from the start of last season - at least in Zone 1. This will be why the match by match prices were not announced until after the deadline. Another example of fleecing your most loyal customers. Interestingly the phase one comparison between season and match by match is almost the same in Zone 1, but I suspect that the £5 increase would have been £25 had more fans renewed at the phase one prices. I suspect that many fans, like our own Sevenoaks, decided to move one block across to save themselves £200, a move that will, probably, never be reversed and will cost the club thousands of pounds every season for years. Greed is good, apparently. I'm sure that, in the past, the season ticket was discounted by the cost of six match tickets (ignoring discounts) even in the Premier League where we only had 19 home league games - and I don't think we had incentives or discounts. Clearly the value of a season ticket has been eroded at a time when the number of empty seats at games has been at a record high - since the old East Terrace was closed in 1985. The other factor for me (which I'm sure won't apply to everyone) is that with season tickets, in Zone 1, being so ridiculously high, for third division football, I have very little fear of someone buying my old seat. The club do seem to have got themselves in a real muddle with pricing. I can't see this being resolved until demand increases significantly, and I suspect that means Premier League football - when, ironically, the income is much less important.
