Jojo was brilliant for us when he first arrived. Truly superb. His excellent performances got him called up to Ghana, where he was very popular and did well. He just wasn't the same when he returned, regularly making errors that put the defence in trouble. His distribution went to pieces and he eventually lost his place to what was our 2nd goalie, who did just as well, if not better than JoJo did. I saw somebody else above mention 'bitter' Swindon fans. Nah! We already have a number 1 and JoJo may have spent most of his time on the bench if he stayed with us. Maybe he's got his head sorted over his Ghana experience, in which case you have a great young goalie on your hands. Otherwise, he's a bench warmer for a L2 club. Egbo, on the other hand... I'm very dissapointed to see him leave. Appreciate your insights mate. Hope he can replicate his early form with us.

At this rate Sandgaard should have just brought Swindon instead of Charlton

I do have to ask though why you see him as a L2 bench warmer when he was in the L2 team of the season last year?

Got to say I thought he looked poor in this highlights reel. 😳

Wrote the above before seeing others concerns. Looks like three of us independently thought he looked suspect

He’s 25 and already an international.
He is unlikely to be the finished article yet, but shows enough promise from being in the L2 team if the season to suggest that he could improve given time and coaching.
I was personally thinking AMB would be number 1 this year, so we will see what happens on that front, but I can’t imaging Garner brought his over to play 2nd/3rd fiddle to Macca

Are we sure it's McG on his way out and not Maynard-Brewer?
I reckon we might get a bigger fee for AMB as he's young and quite highly rated?

He was one of league 2's best goalies last year, but he seemed to lose his way (and his place) at the end of the season. The guy who took his place did just as well and it was always going to be difficult for JoJo to get his place back if he stayed at Swindon.

Are you anticipating losing Reed or McKirdy or both to us? How would you rate those two compared to Jack Payne?

Having started our signings late it's good that the new boys know the manager and can settle in quick.

He's under contract though. Is your owner willing to fork our for transfers? Now Pope has just signed fro Newcastle and we'll get a cut so he'll have to, the fans will demand he spends money. It's a make or break season for him and us. If he fails again then he will really be under pressure, protests for him to sell up may even start again. How much are we talking do you think? £250/£300k? For what it's worth I have been told that if we are interested you guys want it done quickly so that your new boss can use the money to build his own team there. Heard you are willing to sell but no wrangling or it's a closed book. Sell on clauses have to be right for Swindon it's been said and then it's on to the personal terms. We wanted it done sooner but have been waiting to find out what's happening with Pope, there isn't much in the kitty without that going through so it should now happen. May be flown out to Spain next week or join the group on there return.

Blimey, what a turbulent day! So much happening, not used to this🤣
Garner clearly thinks the defence needed attention but for me he now needs to address the offensive element of the club. We need people who are likely to chip in with a few goals either from midfield or more importantly up front. For me this has to be the next area for strengthening.

Wrote the above before seeing others concerns. Looks like three of us independently thought he looked suspect When Pope left us at a very similar age he was far from the finished article but showed promise and at first he struggled to get into the Burnley starting 11, now at 30 he is an established international. It will be down to our GK coaching team to see if they can bring on this young man to something near that standard. Assuming ofcourse that Maynard Brewer isn’t our number one and this lad is back up. ?

Everything feels positive and logical since Garner arrived but TS is placing enormous faith in a manager with only 18 months' experience despite being 42 years old. We all hope he has uncovered a gem but it's one hell of a gamble if we don't hit the ground running results wise.

As Reams stated earlier I also thought Pope was shit and a proper liability so I’m definitely not taking any notice in what some Town fans are saying. His young and with the right backing and confidence I’m sure he will be fine. Will help that his played with the right back too.

When we appointed Garner felt jojo would be one we would sign I like look of him I don’t rate Big Mac at all one of worse keeper in last 15 years for me I have a quiet faith in Ben that I didn’t have initially not sure what it is but I feel Ben could be good for us.

Garner promised to watch the videos of our games last season, and has seen for himself how MacGillivray struggled, particularly on crosses. I was genuinely underwhelmed by him last season.
I hope Wollacott doesn’t hinder AMB’s development.

From a Swindon fan … Call me bitter if you like. But if I were a Charlton fan, I'd be asking how you're going to get promoted from league one with a team and manager that didn't get promoted from league two?
Wollacot wasn't even our best keeper.

More … Will Windham simple, you'll go for tippy tappy sideways crap with your defense constantly passing it back to jojo who can't handle that sort of pressure in L2 let alone L1, and you'll keep conceding gifted goals whilst your single-track manager brags about his 'attacking football' Occasionally you'll have a couple of big wins so he can steer your eyes away from the Loss column and onto the goals scored.

It should be entertaining though and I’d much rather we gambled than settle for mid table mediocrity.

For me AMB should be #1 with Wollacott as back up. Nathan Harness should be sent out on loan. MacG should be transfer listed or loaned out.
