Charlton Athletic winger Diallang Jaiyesimi is wanted by League One pair MK Dons and Lincoln City, trusted reporter Alan Nixon has said on his Patreon. That would be good for us if we can then get a striker in. I imagine that even Alan Nixon's colleagues wouldn't describe him as trusted. Have any of his predictions, found from trawling around sites like this, ever come true? A true giant of the twitter age of piss poor journalism.

The jungle drums are beating that Garner is willing to shift Jaiyesemi, JFC and Gilbey in order to be *allowed* to sign new players before next Weds.
The consensus - on Charlton Twitter at least - is that the above three are worth releasing if it means Garner is then allowed to buy a striker.
This situation is farcical really, but it is a salutary reminder of our denuded financial status under Sandgaard.

I imagine this was the case for Jack Payne's delay also. It's not fun as fans, but if Sandgaard is being strict to his budget it's the nature of business. Hopefully one or more are able to be moved on imminently (Seems Gilbey & DJ are the most likely) so we have the capacity to add.

Worth someone posting the link from journalist @ryanwfwa on Twitter, summarising what is going on within the club at the moment. It makes interesting reading. revilo reamsofverseIn summary, Charlton are notoriously slow at transfers, and other clubs are becoming frustrated. Gilbey, MacG & JFC discussed.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we have tried to change the goalposts with Lincoln, and are trying to get Scully in reverse for Gilbey (and possibly DJ) going!

Read the link I mentioned above VFF I did mate, it's around the length of time it takes teams like Charlton which frustrates teams like MK Dons & Lincoln. Obviously some truth in that but in all honesty I'm not too bothered with how long it takes other clubs to complete their business, that's like a first time buyer being annoyed that there's a chain, easy to complain if you're not at the edge of your budget.

Clock's ticking,I'm slightly more encouraged to read RC's tweet implying we have deals potentially lined up.C'mon TS! BG looks the right man to build with, give him the tools for the job.

A little bit worried about the rumor about Clare. He and Dobo were the only 2 players who seemed to play their hearts out every week last season and are the kind of players we need to hang onto.

I'm hoping the rumours about Sean Clare are not true, but its more than likely a bid will come in from him. If we do lose him i'll be gutted, and doesn't leave us much time for a replacement.
If we are going to challenge this year then we need to be strengthening and not losing good players.
Gilbey is a hard one, last season he was terrible, and like people have said before, it may be down to long covid. Without seeing him play a first team match this year we wont know if his fitness has improved, however if he wants to go then we should let him, and the same with JFC.
BG knows what we need, lets hope he gets backed, but i'll be surprised. TS's ambition is not what I originally thought, too much talking and not enough action to back it up.
Having said that, i think it will be an entertaining season, and we shouldn't be too far away.

Clare at the moment is irreplaceable , there is no way we are going to pick up an out of contract player anyway near his calibre and we aren't going to actually buy a replacement, are we !

Sean Clare and George Dobson were our 2 best players last season. To-date, I have seen nothing to suggest that they won't be up there again this season. We need to extend their contracts NOW. Clare and Dobson are integral to us getting out of this league .
If we were to sell either for peanuts I would be fuming.

Ryan Whelan @ryanwfwa · Follow Alex Gilbey has started to receive other offers with more money on the table. If a deal does come off we are looking towards deadline day now.

I think we need to be realistic. If a “too good to turn down” bid came in for either Sean Clare or George Dobson, then it would be hard to criticise the owner if he chose to accept, though the closer to the end of the window we get the more inconvenient this would obviously be. For what little it’s worth, I’d be surprised if either move on, in part because I suspect the owner would want a seven figure sum and that may be a stretch for a potential buyer. Just my perspective and I’ve no evidence whatsoever for this view.

Agreed,IF a "Silly" amount was offered, then it would deserve consideration.Obviously like the rest of us I hope GD and SC not only stay, but get extensions as they deserve them IMHO. Any fresh rumours on the go? I think I have it right in saying.... DJ linked with move away Gilbey mulling over next move Mac awaiting offers JFC " " Entering the last week,I hope we can get our ducks in a row for when the above begins happening.

I think it would suite Tommy Tight Trousers if late bids came in which he accepted, he’d then justify not being able to find replacements before the window closes. Meanwhile the red red robbins will continue bob bob bobbing along in the lower leagues under his ownership.

Brendan Rodgers at Leicester hasn’t been given a penny to spend this Summer, but he’s got players lined up to quickly buy next week if Fofana goes to Chelsea for £80m.
There is ZERO excuse for Sandgaard not to sign us a striker in the next few days.
He’s had nearly four months.

All be it on a much smaller scale,I hope we are ready(100% agree with you,no excuses to not address such a glaring weakness) and can be active when things start to move for us. I'd be happy if we landed Mckirdy, but also I'd like to see what other targets the blackbox has suggested?....if Any?
