Good window clearly LB has a plan the way he wants to play and a new system ..... Birmingham fans are not happy with Davis going Well Done to the management team and to the future COYR Wind up merchant.

I still think fitness will be the final determiner of where we play next season.

For me this transfer window was always going to help us to answer three questions, 1. Will we strengthen the squad and improve our chances of avoiding relegation? I’m not convinced the answer to that question is yes, but let’s be optimistic and assume it is. We’ve still got a better chance of avoiding the drop than Luton, Wigan and Barnsley. It could be close though. 2. Will we begin to build the squad for next season and beyond? Obviously not. That’s disappointing. 3. Are ESI very wealthy or not. I’ve been a bit skeptical from the off. For me the null hypothesis now is that ESI are skint. That they’ll need to raise money to fund next season. This transfer window has reinforced that view. PS I’m not sure fans realise just how serious the consequences of 3 might be. It’s now desperately important we stay in the Championship. If we get relegated it’s possible ESI will be gone. Really hope I’m wrong about that. Point 3. is the one that concerns me. RD has sold the playing side. Nothing we have seen suggests that the buyers have any funds at this moment and there is a realistic chance that ESI will cease to exist at some time sooner or later unless serious investment is secured. Championship clubs lose money very quickly unless there is substantial outside revenue, such as sponsorship, being directed into the club. If ESI fail, Staprix have a lien over everything of value but as far as can be seen no obligation to buy the football club back. Therefore Staprix could end up as the owner of land containing a football stadium on which nobody can afford to field a team. The football club would close due to lack of funds. If there is no footballing entity able to afford the cost of renting the stadium and fielding a team then that's the end. I feel quite dispirited this evening.

Quite happy with the signings, didn't see much happening with anyone else either, Birmingham fans have got the hump about Davis going they lost 4 and gained one had a shocker. Lyle staying is a bonus. Could have been a lot worse.

No Defender or Striker. Shocker of a Transfer Window! Pratley will now drop back , Smith can play either full back role and Green can play Leko role alongside Green Don’t expect you to understand that called being positive

No Defender or Striker. Shocker of a Transfer Window! In all honesty, who do you think we could have got?.... Even Birmingham couldn't agree loan terms with a striker from Wolves...

You don't know what we're paying in salaries and how many people have to tell you before you get it???.... We did NOT bid 2.6 million for Maddison. That was his release clause that wouldn't of needed to be met with his contact up in the summer.

If BB is right and we bid 2.6 million for Maddison then there's plenty of good CB's we could have got, from the Championship or League 1.

Tom Lockyer, one of the best last year and doing a great job for us. How much did he cost?... Cant please everyone. Last year lots moaning we hand signed someone from league one...

Probably shouldn’t say this, but when Duchâtelet owned the club I found it hard to understand the lack of balance in much of the comment about him. Criticism was obviously entirely justified, but views seemed entirely black and white with no subtlety or nuance.
Now we seem to observing something similar with ESI, but in reverse. Had we had the window that’s just closed under Duchâtelet it might have been reasonable to conclude we’d had a decent window. There was no expectation or reason to believe he’d spend any money.
However, we’ve now got new owners who have made a big thing of how wealthy they are. It’s entirely reasonable to have expected to see concrete evidence of much more ambition. We’ve seen none though. None whatsoever. This was a Duchâtelet window.
To quote our much admired leader “It is what it is. We need to get on with it.” I have no problem with that and I’m really looking forward to the games this month, including the aways, which I typically don’t do. Why the excuses for ESI though? I don’t get it. I hope they surprise me, positively, in the summer. I’d be delighted. Right now though the reality isn’t matching the rhetoric. Surely there can’t be any debate about that can there?

So the window is shut and it depends on one’s point of view whether the business done was good enough to help preserve our Championship status or not. Must say I’m underwhelmed - are we going to play a six man midfield from now (silly joke, really) - but now it’s over at least we know what the squad is and with the returning injured the situation will surely improve. Bonne needs to get fit soon, I would suggest.
So did we all expect, with new ownership, and by what was said in early January, that cash would be splashed on a survival plan - were we led up the garden path and mislead, or were we as supporters guilty of believing things would happen differently? I don’t know but surely it’s now time to draw a line in the sand, forget our differences, stop bickering about who came and who didn’t and get behind the team as well as the management from today onwards as there is everything to play for - in effect our season starts this afternoon. Everyone needs to be pulling in the right direction as of now. You know it makes sense 😉

I still enjoy my football whatever happens and if you can live through Barry Endean and Dick Plumb you will appreciate anything 🤣
