Now we know the true value of Frank Lampard's word! I can’t help feeling it’s Connors choice tbh. He hasn’t looked the same player lately. maybe he isn’t enjoying his football here at the moment while we are struggling. I would be surprised if Lampard forced him to leave us, if he really didn’t want to. He is a known player now, and going to another Championship team, will not stop him being targeted on the pitch from now on, the same as he has been with us. To be fair to the kid, it was asking a lot of him at his age and in his first season of senior football.

If he's loaned out to a premier league club, then fair enough, if he goes to another championship club (especially Swansea!) then that's disgraceful on Chelsea's behalf and any respect I had for Lampard has now gone!

Something not right about this Conor Gallagher news....
Neither Charlton or Chelsea have confirmed that his loan has been cancelled , the first bits of this story were broken yesterday , plenty of time for Charlton to post something via twitter or their official site , especially if , as someone said yesterday that he’d said goodbye to the other players and staff... If it’s in the public domain already , why not just confirm it...?
Also with the report saying Conor has returned to Chelsea “for assessment” , and as this was the last day that they could pull him back , then maybe they are doing their due diligence on him in the flesh , as opposed to reports from us and watching him from the sidelines...
You never know after a day or two assessing Conor , they might sit down and say that they have offers on the table from A B and C or you could return to Charlton , choice is yours... And hopefully he joins back up on Thursday....
🤞🏽

One things for sure , Bowyer is a straight talker , we will know the exact reason when he does his pre match interview , I have no doubt about that....

Gutted he’s leaving - now time to spend some money ESI!

We don't know how much ESI paid for our club or if we are really rich.Chelsea might have wanted us to pay more wages for Conor?.

Or another theory..... private phone conversation....
Frank Lampard...”hi Lee , I’ve seen you’ve come into some money lol , just need some guarantees about Conor’s playing time for the 2nd half of the season....?”
Lee Bowyer...”haha , I hope I get to see some of this money....!!! But in all seriousness Frankie boy , when I get all my players fit I’m going to be playing Cullen Field/Pratley Maddison Green in Midfield with Bonne and Taylor up front , so in answer to your question Frank , I’d like to use Conor as an impact sub , obviously that might not be ideal for you guys , but It Is What It Is....”
Frank Lampard...”ok Lee , thanks mate and may I say , great jacket the other day....”
Lee Bowyer...”Fuck Off Frank.....”

Lee Bowyer "didn't see it coming". Seems everyone else did. Of course there's speculation about Taylor too, but he's ours to not let go, whilst Gallagher isn't.
We were supposed to get the new owners in to help us improve the squad, not regress. Our relegation odds were shortening when I looked with us 4th favourites to go down even though there are 5 teams currently below us.
Fortunately 4th bottom will suffice.
Swansea may play him. They may go up. We've also played them twice this season now so he won't play against us if he's there. If they still have to play Derby I guess he'll get booed there.

Another way to look at this is...we got very lucky here.. he could have flopped and we may have asked to cut short his loan...I have thoroughly enjoyed watching him and I hope he continues to do well.. the problem with loans is we have no control...better to buy your team.. or generate it from within.. onwards now

We move on.
It is entirely possible Gallen has others up his considerable sleeve.

Plus when we jump above Chelsea and they drop from their current #3 most relevant London club , then Conor might be ready for the step up and that may be with us...

That Bows didn't see it means neither CG nor anyone else communicated disatisfaction.
Unless CG stays at Chelsea, this is a change for the sake of change decision taken by Chelski. Obviously CG couldn't refuse. Presumably there are no health issues.
That Chelsea team next season will be full of young English talent!
Whatever,I wish CG the very best it's been a great pleasure watching him realise his potential and become a top professional footballer.

Interesting tweet from Talksport.
West Brom are hoping to pip Swansea to the signing of Conor Gallagher for the rest of the 2019/20 season. A big loan fee upfront could do the trick.
Understand Gallagher was visibly emotional as he said his goodbyes to the Charlton squad yesterday #wbafc #swans #cafc

Feel sorry for Conor , hope he fucks Chelsea off as soon as is possible and goes on to be one of the best players around...

Several people/outlets on Twitter saying that Chelsea recalled him because they want him at a team chasing for the play-offs, rather than one in a relegation battle.

Started the season on fire but last half a dozen games probably even 10 he has looked really ordinary . Slump seems to have happened when we lost William's and Cullen through injury, Would imagine Chelsea feel he will benefit winning every week so sending him to play off chasing teams will further his career.....not. Lampard will be sacked by Christmas anyway. Honeymoon is over for him now.

Several people/outlets on Twitter saying that Chelsea recalled him because they want him at a team chasing for the play-offs, rather than one in a relegation battle. It’s their option and they may also think that he risks being burnt out given our injury probs. Prem clubs withdraw players if they are underused but they can also do so if they feel that their player is not being properly protected. Only saying. I’m dead impressed with the young man hearing that he was visibly emotional saying his goodbyes.
