I've been deeply affected by PC Palmer's death as there are so many similarities between his life and mine. But to wake up this morning and find out that he was an Addick too just breaks my heart. Sitting on the sofa at 6.30am here with tears rolling down my cheeks.
RIP PC Keith Palmer, Our Hero.

RIP Keith Palmer. The club should play a game in his honour and donate the money to his family. Puts everything into perspective when something horrific like this happens. Condolences and thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues.

Play the media? What do you mean mate? I'm guessing canterburyaddick means how does he get the short video clip to play? Perhaps he is having a technical problem with it. I don't think he meant 'the media' as in the press or news management...

The word 'hero' is often misused - but not in this case - a TRUE HERO... a fan who will be sadly missed in SE7 - RIP...

RIP Keith Palmer. Lost his life doing his job protecting us. A fan on Charlton is a friend of mine. Good to see #cafc paying tribute to a hero

I agree to a point but the protest / protesters do not deserve the right to be mentioned on the same thread as Keith Palmer. I hope they name a stand after Keith, he deserves it. Very good call reamsofverse the East stand will forever be associated with Keith Palmer

As a club we mourn, as a nation we mourn and as fellow human beings we mourn. We naturally tend to idolise those on the pitch calling them heroes, but little did we know a true hero in every sense of the word was sat amongst us in the stands.
RIP Keith.

That is such a moving photo Reams, would be great if just for even one game only we could all forget our differences as much as it may hurt, & unite as we used to, pack the valley out & pay our respect for a true addick, & show our younger supporters how it used to be, & what we could one day bring back if we all worked together, show them what the valley looks like when we were a great club & for once show these people who run the club what our history is all about, who knows? it might just wet their appetite for more! ( wishful thinking)! I think this mans memory deserves that at the very least, RIP Keith.

As far as the club doing something for Keith, I would prefer they choose the Southend game as opposed to the MK Dons one due to the KR connections with them.
I'm sure more would attend on a Saturday than midweek anyway.

Personally don't agree with a blue seat, I'm sure as an addick he wouldn't want what would look like a millwall association. I think and upgraded seat with an engraving would be fitting or even a plaque in the east stand.

Fair play to Tony Watt for offering his family a season ticket next year. Nice gesture from Tony Watt. My idea would be for maybe a plaque on the seat, and a seat either side also being withdrawn and three season tickets provided for life for use of Pc Keith Palmers family or close friends . That seat would always be Keith Palmers seat...obviously whatever considered appropriate by his family.

The Just Giving fundraising page for PC Palmer's family is at £580k ! It's now at £650K so still rising by £17K per hour. Perhaps it's helpful that our game is postponed as this enables the club and the fans to take stock of the enormity of the situation and then plan an appropriate response. I'm hearing calls for all fans to attend the game as a mark of respect.

I heard from a friend that the Club may be planning a memorial for the next Saturday afternoon home match - which would be Saturday 8th April against Southend United. It will be on that day that the maximum number of Charlton fans who wish to pay their respects would be able to come to the Valley. I'm sure there will be something done to honour PC Palmer on the evening of Tuesday 4th as well, but I think it would be good to hold some kind of tribute at the next Saturday afternoon home match. And I agree with seriouslyred that it is perhaps for the best that we are not facing that MK Dons home fixture tomorrow. It would have been almost too soon, and many of us are still in a kind of shock I think. The extra days will enable those involved to make appropriate arrangements, hopefully with the full support of Keith Palmer's family in their time of grief.

Play the media? What do you mean mate? I just get "this media could not be played" when I click on the media you posted on March 23rd. I've had this quite a lot with that sort of media. Is it a Twitter thing?

Thoughts still with his family. Glad to see that the club is trying to do something to support them at this difficult time.

RIP Keith Palmer. Thank you for helping to protect our country, our capital and our way of life.
Perhaps the east stand concourse could be named Keith's Way.

I think and upgraded seat with an engraving would be fitting or even a plaque in the east stand. Yes I did think that too, hence the emphasis on Met Police Blue, but not all football fans would recognise the difference. Personally I would not want to sit in that seat if it was the only seat available in the ground .. how about taking out the seat and replacing it with a plaque on the space it occupied? Just read back -- lovely idea treasure1
