Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John15:13
I never knew PC Palmer until now but he was my friend, because he was a friend of everybody who has the right to live peacefully and free from fear in this country.
RIP Keith. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

My sincere sympathy to Keith Palmer`s family, and my thanks for people like him for keeping the rest of us safe. We are so unaware of what goes on in the shadows.

So desperately sad. The image of the scarf on his seat is heartbreaking.
Wouldn't it be nice if, just for one game, some of the boycotting fans returned to the Valley so he could receive a proper tribute. Paying respects to him in front of a half empty stadium feels wrong, somehow.

They should also put a plaque up near the main entrance to remind us all of his great sacrifice. RIP Keith and thank you for all you did to keep the public safe. You will never be forgotten by Addicks supporters.

I imagine the Lee Rigby flag may well soon be one of a pair.

Fair play to Tony Watt for offering his family a season ticket next year.

Keith Palmer was the face of Westminster to so many tourists who must have taken photos of him at his post over the years. He served this country in both the Army and Police, indeed a true HERO.Thoughts and prayers to his family.

Just 15 people posting their condolences on here sickens me to the stomach to be honest especially when the CARD and protests threads had posts in their 100,s.
Totally embarrassed by that number and perhaps it's worth noting how many of us became out of touch with the real World.
Football and Protests are nothing in comparison to the loss of human life especially when it's one of our own.

I agree to a point but the protest / protesters do not deserve the right to be mentioned on the same thread as Keith Palmer.

Keith is a hero and died doing good. ISIS on the other hand die doing evil and are missed by few.

Perhaps the home match we play each season which is closest to the 22nd March could be designated as the annual Memorial match for PC Keith Palmer, and other men and women (local born and/or Charlton supporters) who have given their lives to defend our freedom.

RIP Keith
It's strange, yesterday it was sad that this poor man had died in protecting others, today feels totally different now that we know he is one of us, almost like a family member has passed.
I hope that fans put their differences to one side for our next home game to honour our brother!

I agree Al I just wish it was a Saturday, I would have been there without a second thought. I wish you could be there too reamsofverse It's such a pity we are away next weekend and our next home game is the re-scheduled MK Dons match on Tuesday April 4th. Originally I was not going to go to the MK Dons game (it would have been too difficult to get away from work in time) but I'm going to speak to my bosses. Under the circumstances I know they'll give me the nod to leave early that day. I will be at the Valley on Tuesday evening, and I'll think of you and all the other Charlton fans who want to be there too - fans who will be there in spirit, to honour one of our own who has fallen in the line of duty.

This somehow brings the tragic events so much closer to home. I think Keith's seat must be close to mine as I sit in seat 170 in the East Stand. A man just doing his job to make this a safer country for us all, killed by some misguided fanatic must seem so unfair to his family. Like everyone on here my thoughts are with his family and his colleagues. How do you play the media, Paul?
