Not sure why there is such an argument here- we should all be delighted with our points total to date and I think Rikofold is, but there have been some worrying aspects that have been successfully masked by the excellent defence. And long may that continue. Worrying in the sense that it might be a hindrance to us getting a play-off place – not worrying that we will be relegated. I suppose that sort of worrying is a positive in itself after last season. If Peeters was happy with the more negative aspects of our performances I’d be worried, but I'm confident, given what I have read, that he is concerned enough to be working on them in so much as he can without reinforcements in key areas that most of us would welcome. All about fear! Fear of the future...fear that the new owner and new management team don't fully understand CAFC and the Championship... Fear that we will go on a losing streak and that all the progress in 2014 will go up in smoke. Bob Peeters today has once again repeated the message - if we are in a similar position come new year then he thinks we will acquire one or two quality players. In my book that is €5-6m and it may well be being spent six months ahead of plan because we are doing so well. I think there is a genuine worry that we might just miss the play-offs but we have the youngest squad in the Championship and only Wilson, Church are out of contract plus Buyens and Bulot are on loan for just this season... "no fear of the future" might sound glib but it is based around a philosophy of living life. All I'm saying is that we should enjoy what is fast becoming the best season in eight. Do we really discount the League One win so cheaply?

Being 45th in the league when five seasons earlier we had been seventh in the Premiership was hardly an ocassion for put-our-more-flags hoorah-hoorah-we're-great bragging, was it?

Red devils and parachutes into the Valley all good fun but doesn't really compare to a play-off final at Wembley in front of 40,000 Addicts? As requested, let's stick to the game lads! Or move on to the Fulham game - met an old friend tonight who takes his son down to Valley although he's a Man U fan... We were talking about the game the other night - it was a laugh because he's trying to tell me all about the table and Tucudean and all sorts... I just asked if he had heard the news about buying "one or two quality players in January" Now if a Man U fan is getting excited about CAFC why can't fans on message boards do likewise? This time tomorrow night we will see if we are a contender. Plenty of football in the next nine weeks to see if we make the grade.

If I'd said that you'd have been all over me for slagging our club and being negative. We've only won 4 league titles in our entire history, and only 2 since the war - actually it's just 2 titles in 79 years! For me that's worth a celebration, yes. And all but one of them has been at third tier level. When did Charlton supporters start feeling so entitled? In football you finish where you deserve to. We deserved to be in League One, we're not entitled to a Premiership place. I really do find it very sad that any Charlton supporter wants to reduce a title winning season to '45th in the league' - I presume our previous title was only finishing 21st in the league? Shame.

Do the math, mate. 20+24+1 = 45. Simple arithmetical fact and one that represented a catastrophic and unecessary decline precipitated by Murray losing the plot post-Curbishley.
I'd rather finish 17th in the Prem than top of the Championship. And I'd rather finish 21st in the Championship than top of Div 3. Not about entitlement. It's about the fact that winning trophies in crappy lower leagues is a pretty hollow celebration compared to the satisfaction of playing at a higher level and watching us play the best teams in the country at the Valley.
As for your claim that a club invariably occupies the position it deserves (with which I'd broadly agree) you are the one who keeps saying we don't deserve to be where we are this season and haven't earned the points that have put us there! There's an entire thread suggesting Peeters has "just got lucky" to which I'm sure you have contributed.
Anyhow, you're going off topic again and will get us all told off!

Think of the great partnerships of the last 50 years.... Burton and Taylor Posh and Becks IA and Rik Farage and Cameron dancing their way out of the EU?! Fortunately Cameron will probably disappear next May and Johnson will take out UKIP far more effectively
