Re attendances, no substitute for good winning football. Of course over the years this has been supported by the Target10k initiatives as well. Yes indeed. Having no strategy for gaining "customers" would be a great folly but the product needs to be worth it otherwise they will be wasting their time. It's a whole package that is needed. 1. A good on pitch product (exciting football with a decent chance of getting into the playoffs) 2. A decent experience at the ground (burger bars etc clearly need some more work) 3. Marketing support to get people in such as free/cheap tickets - I paid £20 odd quid for my ticket on Saturday. I would rather there was bums on seats even if there were loads of school kids etc making noise and paying for burgers. Based on a couple of experiences I have had at the Valley already this season, the whole 'customer service ethos' down there needs a good kick up the arse. The ticket office and the club shop on non match days both offer piss poor service, with fans being looked on as a nuisance who get in the way of eating bags of crisps and texting on i phones. It doesn't really motivate you to either spend money, or go back again. The whole Charlton back room staff should be taken for a day out to John Lewis, to see what it means to deliver good customer service. The staff in the Club Shop really are piss poor, with no empathy whatsoever and a default soundbite of "nah...we haven't got that in stock" When S&J and then Duchatelet began weeding out the staff, we heard plenty of moans about how harshly the blameless backroom boys were treated - the tuth is that there are still a few of them down there who need to be shown the door. I would not employ them to clean my toilet.

I know RD has a strategy for increasing season ticket sales for next season and things won't happen until Feb/March. If however we get promoted ticket sales will soar in any case. With plastic fans, bussed in from the Medway Towns. That strategy worked great last time

Probably too early to say on what gates are this year, and of course the figures would have I expect have been skewed by the 1400 comps for lapsed STs for Wigan. But looking around it looks visibly less full particularly North Lower. 13,000-14,000 I reckon, tops. This means we have lost at least 33% of our paying supporter base in the last 7 seasons.

It's pricks like me that make cunts like you go all moist with excitement though. Having been away on holiday in Sri Lanka, I have only just caught up with the above post. But can I belatedly report this crude and offensive comment by "webbo" to the moderators? I have no idea who "webbo" is (although I have my suspicions). But I note that he regularly poses on this forum as some kind of spokesman for the CAFC Trust. A word of advice to the Trust : if you wish to retain any shred of credibility, you need to repudiate this foul-mouthed keyboard warrior, because his abusive attitude in your support tarnishes the image of the Trust in a very regretable way.

The Trust have a board...I was on it for 18 months. Razil is the official trust spokesman and others post either promoting their own views or the trust. Pico Se9addick are two...plus ShootersHillGuru. PragueAddick is on the Trust board too but he posts in a personal capacity. Never heard of webbo and I'm sure there are many many posters here and other forums who are members or subscribe to the Trust. Unfortunately you get foul mouthed warriors all over as well as posters who can't / won't engage in reason when there is disagreement. Football (and politics) is all about opinions and there are those who spin and lie as well as those who shout and swear...good presentation of the facts and cause often wins most over I find

Not arguing with Incorruptible's point, but seems to me webbo was responding to a crude and offensive comment directed at him. Why pick on webbo [alone]?
Quite what the link to the Trust is I have no idea - just because someone expresses views in its support doesn't make them a spokesperson - otherwise we'd all be spokespersons for Charlton Athletic wouldnt' we?

This is the second time you have had a go at them on here recently (and no I'm not from kent before you ask).

And Medway has now got a plastic UKIP MP, since Mark Reckless has defected to Farage's xenophobic rabble!

Nothing, I am making the point that bussing fans in from 30-50 miles away last time did not work. I love Kent. Nigel Farage lives there.

Royston when we were in the PL getting 27000 gates Palace were getting 14000 now the roles have reversed do you think we have lost supporters (not true fans) to Palace?

So. You pick up on the bad language I have used, for which I have apologised already, and apologised to inkblot. However you say nothing about lowernorthvince who instigated the exchange with ripe language of his own. Seems like your incorrupitability does not stretch to even handedness. What do you mean by 'suspicions'?

"Ripe language?" Oh dear. Is that the new euphemism for foul-mouthed and disgusting abuse?
What do I mean by suspicions? Exactly what I say.
You will probably respond by calling me a c*** or some other such word from your "ripe" vocabulary. But please try to control yourself and adress fellow posters in a civilised manner, even when you disagree with them.

However when reams uses the 'c' word, not a dicky bird? I 'disagree' that you are incorruptible, your posts reveal hypocrisy. Is that civilised enough for you?

Anyone would think it was me who had used foul and disgusting "ripe" language by the way this "webbo" protests and blames reams and lowernorthvince and the "hypocrites" who dare to stand up to his abuse - in fact it seems he will blame anyone rather than man-up, take responsibility for his own offensive behaviour and accept his ASBO!

I have apologised for the language used previously, you can see the exchange I had with Inkblot. I have not blamed reams or lowernorthvine for anything, and if I am protesting about anything it is you coming on all Judge Judy regarding me, without applying the same judgemental approach to others. You're setting yourself up as the arbiter of what is right and wrong as if you are getting it right yourself. you're not, I have pointed out your hypocrisy which you have chosen to ignore, so that is all I need to know regarding the credibility of things you post on here.

Webbo, your apology was accepted.
I then went on to say...
The following applies to all posters on these forums.
Both Ream and I know that it is easy to get heated at times, but can I suggest you take a pace back.
Cool off for half an hour, then if you still feel you have been wronged, take it up in a PM with the
person concerned.
Other posters are not interested in members going off topic and having slanging spats. Plus it lowers
the tone of this forums and is so unnecessary especially when swearing at each other is involved.
It is annoying to have to continually lock post because our members fail to heed the moderators instructions.
I hope I do not have to lock another post!

why is the real question here, just because they are women or based on knowledge and experience ? takes me back to the days of the South London Press adverts for things like "Asian" / "Black" social worker wanted. Surly a person should get the job on credentials not race, religion, sex or color ?
