I don't have a huge problem with it per se, I just think we have dug ourselves into a hole with regard to "nationality" issues. The Welsh and Scots have their own "nationality" identity icons like their flag, and their anthems, yet the English tend to identify with the British ones.
So we end up with a mess. At the English FA Cup final, the British National Anthem is traditionally played and by historical quirk, one of three Welsh Teams who have been allowed to play in the English competition, happens to be in the final and immediately there is a Welsh National fervour which results in the decision to play their anthem. If they are going to do this, then play Land of Hope and Glory as well, at least there is some logic then.

If it keeps them happy, then why not? personally I think it is a bit childish, but then "nationalists" do tend to behave in a childish manner, and if it was refused we would be stooping to their level.
