thats probably the wierdest post Ive ever sent, and probably you've ever read. What I meant to say was, I met your dad, and I used to kick about behind spar with his lad. Richard? I was only 7 or 8 myself.

Bloody el, that's turning the clock back a bit it must be 1976/77 when I lived in that part of Swansea.
That would be the spar shop where it's car park more or less meets the golf course and if you walk the length of it it leads you down to three cliffs bay.
We lived in the houses right by the spar, im trying to recall you, I knew a Richard when we moved to Upper Killay Richard Kirby his name was but that's not you.

I remember Les for his moustache, a very hard working midfielder

I can't remember what school I was in whilst in Pennard it may very well have been Bishopston, I know when we moved to Dunvant it was Olchfa though.
I used to sneak onto the golf course and start playing at the hole closest to the house ;D Got chased off a few times by the posh members, I could bloody hit a ball though even as a 12/13 year old. I remember one hole that is fairly short and downhill right on the far side of the course. I sliced my tee shot one day and it went through the window of the only house on the whole course, I totally shit myself and legged it home ;D
Do you remember Kate and Tony Parsons who lived next door to us they had a chippy over at Rhosilli Bay?

We only stayed in Pennard whilst we were having a house built in Dunvant and Three Crosses.

That's what I call him ;D
Great to hear from you, If you are going to the first game let me know and we could meet up for a pint, in the meantime great to hear from you and stay in touch.
Just to add I moved to Cardiff in 1993 and stayed seven years, I had a coaching job with the Bluebirds and my daughter was born there so when they came to The Valley last season I made sure I was there and it was sentimental I have to say even though we beat them 3-0.
Once 3pm arrived though I felt no affinity with them but come August 9th and Swansea it will be even more of a trip down memory lane as I have a huge soft spot for them and the City even though I was only there for 3 years.
Maybe it's down to they were part of my growing up years but there is something about Swansea that I'll always remember.

OK In simple terms. If you remember playing behind the back of spar with a fat kid who was infatuated with swansea players, then it was me. OK .Ive heard there are more new recruits ahoys, so I better go and stalk them.

I remember it vaguely if that doesn't sound disrespectful, it was all new to me than it was the first time we moved away from home so at the age I was it upheval with school and everything but I definitely recall making a couple of football mad friends around there.
