www.cafc.co.uk/newsview.ink?nid=32510Did anyone else see this? Is it my imagination, or was that story sneaked onto the bottom half of the O/S where it could be overshadowed by the more positive propaganda about Varney and Hospitality Suite cheapness? And obviously I'm a bit annoyed by his impending absence, as up until now I was banking on him being our world-class attacking midfielder playing alongside the world-class playmaker that I'm anticipating Pards signing any day now. That's our flying start to the season in jeapardy, I fear. Let's hope Pards gets someone in quick and the other midfielders step up to the plate, otherwise I can see our league position looking a bit desperate come November.

I think it will be another club's problem by then.

Could be, although I hope not. He may be inconsistant sometimes, but when he's on form he is formidable. I'd rather keep him than have to look for someone else to replace him or rely on what we've got. The rumours a couple of weeks ago said Fulham were gonna buy him for £4m, but they've got Zoltan Gera since then, and I don't think for a minute we'd get the cash up front. Don't go, Zheng! Anywhere!

The problem with ZZ is that his form has suffered since his partner Reid left. When playing alongside him he had a kind of free role, he was underestimated as opponents set their stall out at stopping Reid. It was a case of stop Reid and you stop Charlton so whilst they concentrated on him ZZ was having the freedom to roam and it paid dividends.
Once Reid left ZZ then became the target man and we had nobody else to play the role that he was playing so therefore we suffered as his goals dried up and they did not come from anywhere else in midfield come the end.
