Sunday tabloid reports that we are lining up a £1m bid for the Manchester United midfielder. No thanks I read that the Championship is supposed to be the 4th best league in Europe, think that is garbage myself because I can name at least 6 that are better and Holland isn't one of them which is where he failed to make an impact whilst on loan at NEC Nijmegen. I think £1m is inflated because of the club he would be coming from rather than him being worth it as a player. Can't see it myself but if it were to be the case it is a headscratcher because the one thing that may have been the deciding factor that curtailed our interest in Hoolahan was wages as he can demand them to be quite high with his new club getting him for a knockdown price of £250,000, but if we opted out because of it I cannot see how Eagles would demand any less

Reams,
Not 4th best, 4th best supported. World of difference.
What Chris ****** did as a youngster at NEC isn't as relevant as how impressive he was with Watford when they got promoted.
I doubt there is any truth in the story anyhow but if he is sold from a big club to a less big club then he would have to expect to take a cut in wages in any case.
As for Hoolihan (and your real problem with Chris ****** is that he's not your love child Wes) when did the club announce that they were after him, that wages were an issue or that we opted out. All speculation from you.

The club have not announced that they are after E***** Ben so your answer is based on the same speculation as mine is about Hoolahan is it not ?
E***** played for Nigmegen after Watford by the way.
As for Hoolahan I keep banging on about him because that is the type of player we should be looking at if we have any ambition but perhaps we haven't got £250,000!!

or perhaps the fee isn't £250k. Have Blackpool said that? Or maybe Blackpool don't want to sell or a deal has already been agreed with whichever club ready to be announced. Speculation, speculation, speculation.
Have an opinion on if a player is suitable or not (and I'd have Hoolihan as well all things being equal) but what you frequently do Reams is take one bit of speculation, use that to make another piece of speculation and then reach a conclusion on the basis of that. You then convince yourself that is fact rather than fantasy and attack the club for acting in such a way.
EG Hoolihan must be on high wages (no evidence for that), Charlton have curtailed their interest (no evidence for that) despite him being available for £250k (only gossip on that) therefore Charlton are arrogant/lazy in the transfer market (see how many transfer have been done by CCC clubs = very few).
And so what if he didn't impress at NEC. He did at Watford.

Henry why is it that when somebody has an opinion they are automatically attacking the club?
Speculation is natural this time of year, it's what gets us all through the summer you read it in every newspaper and on every website and those of us who are not South London based only have it to go on where as people closer to home like yourself and other fans are more in the know. (Another reason why the club should wake up and realise that they have fans this my side of Watford because quite frankly what they do for us is sweet FA and I will attack them for that as the to be honest it is pathetic that a club of our size cannot get a premium website with match commentary and all the over seas fans agree with me too.)
I didn't say that Hoolahan must be on high wages, what I said was because of the clause a club will save around £1m on a transfer fee for him, so with this in mind his agent will demand a high wages surely that's obvious.
Finally Im really not interested in who other CCC clubs are buying, im only interested in who we buy because we most certainly need 3 or 4.
Maybe Alan Pardew should not put us on tenterhooks by making statements like "We will steal a march on on other clubs" Ben, especially when Richard Murray stated in the meeting the other night that we will have to " sell more than we buy!".
Now I wasn't at the meeting that is why Stu went on our forums behalf, but is it not more of a case of we have to sell to buy?
If so, why did Pardew say what he did knowing that sales won't really start to happen until July?

As he has come through the Manchester United youth acadamy, he must be better than some of the dross we presently employ, give the lad a chance and perhaps, even doubters, may be suprised at his committment and output after all he learned his trade under the supervision of Sir Alex, who does not suffer slackers lightly.
If he wants to play for Charlton, good on him, he's young enough not to have the "I'm only here for the money"attitude, like some we have signed over the last couple of years.
Good Luck Chris, when youngsters have shirts with Eagles on them, they will be worn with pride, as all fans who tote a name of their favourite player on their replica shirts, do.

If we get him I reckon he will be a decent signing. Only just outside of the Man Utd 1st team and should be good at this level. If so 2 good signings and a cheap calculated gamble (Fleetwood) in my book. Nothing to criticise yet.
