I like the shape with the 2 wide men but I'm not sure if Burton is fit enough to play the lone striker. I doubt if any of the other strikers are good enough with the exception of McKenzie but would he be fit enough? Shelvey will have to push up and make it 2 up front every chance he gets and Bailey should be ready to step up too. A good formation but we will have to work hard. Would prefer Dailly, is he injured?

Agree with you totally DFT, on Dailly, Shelvey and also on McKenzie. I would rather see him as lone striker than Burton who is becoming anonymous up there and lacks pace.

1 up front....at home? please explain this. For the whole season and some previous ones, everyone on here has been moaning about lack of goals and attacking impact. The above formation doesnt seem to fit with the request from persons on here to be 2 nil up within 15 mins to get the fans going.

Personally would leave Burton on the bench with another game on Tuesday and would start with an attack minded formation:.
Elliott
Richardson, Sodje, Dailly, JJ
Sam, Samedo, Bailey, Reid
McKenzie, Sodje
Subs; Randolph, Leira, Mooney, Burton, Jonjo, Spring, Wagstaff

We are getting outplayed in the middle and our 2 forwards are getting separated from our midfield which looks light with just 2 players if we play 2 wide men. There fore 1 upfront allows the whole team including the full backs to have a more attacking influence on the game. See Man U and Chelsea. As for goals, we are the leagues joint 2nd top scorers, but how many have come from our strikers.

Strikers have scored 22 in all (Burton 13, Mooney & Mcleod 3 each) A Sodje 2, McKenzie and Tuna one a piece) if our it's our midfield that holds the yupper hand in the scoring stakes.
