Right I have been doing some figures tonight and I'll start by showing you last seasons final table in League 1. www.sportpress.com/stats/en-gb/1246_england_league_1_2008_2009/5_main_table.htmlAs you can see the first play off place went to MK Dons on 87 points followed by Leeds 84, Millwall 83 and Scunthorpe who went up 76. We have lost 4 games this season so far whilst 3 teams in last seasons play offs lost 14 each, two of them won 26 games though, one won 25 whilst Scunthorpe won 22 so I think it's safe to say that we are not going to win or lose as many so where will that take us?? My honest assessment is we will come away from Millwall, Huddersfield and Southampton with nothing and get a point at MK Dons. At home I think Leeds will do us but we will pick up points against Colchester and Norwich. Of the others I think we will beat Yeovil, Brighton, Stockport and Gillingham at home and draw with Carlisle. I think we will only win one and draw two of the Southend, Exeter and Oldham away games. All in all that is a total of 21 points which added to our current 57 totals 78, two more than Scunthorpe last season. It might not be alot and it looks a bit grim but if we can accumalate that total it would mean that the teams in 6th and 7th at the moment who both have 51 points would then have to gain 27 points at least to overhaul us which to be honest I just don't see at all because it equates to 9 wins from their last 16 games..

Can't see much wrong with the above other than Parky should also have done the mathematics and we may as a result pick up say a further 5 points from draws at Millwall, Huddersfield and Soton plus a win against MK Dons.
Further 2 points is possible should we sneak two wins and a draw from Carlisle, Southend, Exeter and Oldham. Know it's being positive, but feel that after Mondays debacle things will start to look up or heads will roll.
In all an additional 7 points bringing us up to 85. The season could come down to the last three home games, Colchester, Norwich and Leeds, all of which are must win games where 3 Charlton wins would change the complexion of the league for the top 4 clubs.

Clearly we are relying on a loss of form from Norwich and/or Leeds to get auto promotion. That may or may not happen, but to fail to get into the play off places from this position would be a major indictment of Parky and the team, as your research indicates.
We're on our way to Wembley dada da da!!
