Well, are we?
Cos this squad aint gonna get us promoted.
We aint got the bottle for the play-offs. Can you imagine it....Millwall home and away in the play-offs, our lot would shit themselves!
Norwich have taken over, are in form and have made a few signings. Colchester right up our arse.
Are we that skint that we can't strengthen the squad?

akpo and mooney will be good signings. If Puncheon comes in as well that'll do me though if Fortune is fit & still looking for a club, he'd be a good catch.
I'd imagine that even in this day & age, the snow will have disrupted potential transfers with players unable to travel far for medicals, contract signings etc.

I think DFT that you acccept that the club is that skint, if we bring a new player in on a permanent then that means we will have sold one or two players to afford the new one. If we are still in this division next season the n look for a team of players made up of the overaged and the underaged, that will be all that can be afforded.

if the fact that we cant repair a pitch cover and cant afford to run the under soil heating is true then its loans till the end of the season , woud like to see mooney there if hes fit

Most people on here seem to accept that we have to go up this year to start getting back to where we were a few years ago, well I do to.If we don't make it this year I fear we will be stuck in this shite league for years to come and the board must see that. They really must squeeze the money from somewhere to make the two/three signings that will get us there because if they don't they haven't a hope in hell of getting their money back that they've put in. Having said all that I don't expect for one second that they will see it like that and will not make any perm. signings. I just regret to say that I (aged 65) do not ever again expect to see my beloved club in the Premier League.

I think this squad is good enough to get promoted. Leeds and possibly Norwich aside, we are the best team in the league. I still think that if we play to our strengths (i.e. keep the ball on the deck and not smash it towards Burton's face) we can outplay almost any team in this division.
However, i do worry if we have to go via the playoffs. It's a cliche, but they really are a lottery. There's a 50/50 chance that we could lose to a team like Millwall, who over the course of the season we would probably piss all over.
Also agree with Sid. People who doubt this and say, "there's always next year", seriously need to look at the other teams in our league (and league 2) and ask where they were 5 to 10 years ago. Bouncing back up gives us the best chance of not getting stranded in league one. Yes, it's nice to see us win regularly, but i still infinitely preferred it in the Premiership.

With Izale on loan at Posh, will his pay be used to have a loanee of quality signed in his place?, as a Charlton squad player would think he's on a wage in excess of other players in this league and with money being the be all and end all these days, perhaps we can get a player of note.

reckon he's paying for Mooney's loan extension. Fair enough.

You never know, Leeds might go on a bit of a slide and let us in if we could go on a run like we had at the start of the season.
I can't see us topping Norwich, they look the best team at the moment but they could go on a bad run.
I dread the play-offs and think our bottle could go especially in a white hot derby against Millwall, their fans would win it for them!
We have to go all out for a top 2 spot and if there is any money then we should strengthen especially the left side
