Email from Carl Krauhaus of the Community Trust
To everyone,
In light of our good news live on Friday’s ITV’s London Tonight programme that the Charlton Upbeats were successful in the quest for funding from the people’s millions competition, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for you efforts in spreading the word and getting so many people to vote for this programme. We have not been given the voting numbers as yet but are told by ITV that we were clear winners. The amount secured on Friday for the project was 37,800 pounds and the hard work begins in Jan 2010 to use this funding to develop the project. For those of you who saw the live programme on Friday night you will have seen the positive effect winning had on the young people on the project. Knowing that this project received such recognition gave the young people and their parents a massive lift and they now feel that the need for activity based programmes specifically for people with Downs syndrome is now being addressed, and that other organizations will follow suit. Thanks again for your co-operation. The young people and their families also genuinely passed on the thanks on Friday.
Please forward this message onto your contacts who helped us be successful on Friday!!!
Kind regards
Carl Krauhaus

Great to see the club taking time to thank people for there efforts. As we know most clubs would not bother.
I wish them all the success they deserve.
