Got one next Tuesday and to be honest despite having a very good CV and the ability to write a eyecatching covering letter, when it comes to interview im not the best in the world as I just seem to freeze.
Any managers out there who are skilled in interviewing who can give me some tips, what is it you look for and how do you know when you have the right person for the job sitting opposite you?
I went 8 or so years without having an interview as I was in employment so I lost track of how interviewing has moved on an it was a bit of a culture shock the last time I had one a few months ago.
These days some of the questions asked are what is your most satisfying achievement and describe certain situations when faced with different things!
What do employers want to hear, I don't care if I say something which has never actually happened in my life just as long as it gets a tick in the box!
Any sensible feedback would be greatly appreciate it my season ticket depends on it ;D

Wear a clean pressed suit, clean good shoes, white shirt, sombre tie, be clean shaven, hair combed, fresh breath, don't sit down at the interview until asked, offer a good handshake on introduction to the interviewer, don't chew a sweet or be smoking just prior to the interview.
Don't tell porkies or talk about something you know little about, you'll get caught out and a little lie could cost you a job, keep eye contact during the interview, avoid fibs, be honest, polite and just and be yourself.
However, you could go in shabby jeans, trainers and 'T' shirt, couple of days stubble, hair looking as if you've just got up, smoking a fag whilst chewing gum and plonk yourself down in the nearest chair in the interview room and flop one leg over the arm of said chair and go on about Pythagaras Theoram, the green issue, the latest labour saving gadget or anything you believe the interviewer might want to hear from you, adding "I only came 'ere or they'd stop me dole money" and then in not getting the post leave and go and sign on again via the Job Centre, job done, yeh!
Good luck, remember, just be yourself.

People always concentrate on their strengths and push these. I usually ask an applicant what their weaknesses are and how they would address them, as it shows self analysis. Otherwise first impressions are important, and a good first impression puts you on the front foot.

Cheers fellas, I think I have scored a few points already as I always try to get an insight to the company that I am having the interview with before I go and they did not appear to have a website so I checked by ringing them and the secretary put me through to the guy who is interviewing me and he sounded quite impressed that I took the trouble to ring and ask.
