Just finished putting all the phone lines that morning to the porta cabins. Had to rush home get lunch drop the van off then get back to collect my ticket that I had left at reception so I would not forget it.
Seat was in the northstand right down the front. Always remember because the bloke I had next to me spent ages smoking a hugh cigar and the smoke was pissing me off, anyway at half time he went and it was only later on the local news I found out it was michael grade. As there I was sitting next to him as the camera panned onto him with a massive scowl on my face because of the smoke, got asked so many times if I was bored and did not enjoy the day because of that 15 secs on the local news.

My first ever one was in 78/79 I think. It was a 0-0 with Fulham anyway

I went in the Anti and had 7 pints of Guinness in an hour before the game, it is still my record and not one I am planning to try to beat

c.1958 at the grand age of 4. Don't ask who against, but I remember sitting with the trainer, (died recently) down the front. A ball knocked over the bucket where he kept his magic sponge and I got soaked. Also remember standing in the bar, under the flap, with a packet of Smith's crisps with the blue salt twisty packet and bit into it. . Ahh! the memories.
