Not one post about the game. Going down hill fast im afraid guys and I really have not got the time to rescue it a sinking ship. Luckily there are always opposing fans sites like this Huddersfield one also run by proboards.com. Embarrasses our site to be honest. downatthemac.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general

I would have but since getting home been asleep due to feeling shit only got up to go, but even then don't remember an awfull lot due flu cappsuls.
One thing I would say the ref was shocking, second half mcloud was Barged of the ball next thing it's down the other end and the same happens only differance they get a free kick we got sweat FA.
Right going back to bed with a hot ribena and whisky.

Yep well said reams but I think maybe many of us are out celebrating/commiserating on a Saturday night.
Have to say I thought that parky - who by ge way dtill doesn't get a song from the covered end choir - answered his critics with a brave 442 leaving out jonjo. Yes most of us advocate that over he past weeks but I suspect there is a contract deal with jonjo that gives him an exit if we don't play him.
442 means we are more likely to concede given the lack of big heavyweight midfield enforcer types in the squad BUT we can also score more goals as a result.
Feel for matt spring as heis more than a tidy footballer but Jose and thierry are such a good combination. As for Sam well the occasional OMG but he is so effective when we go forward.
Whilst talking of jonjo do you think his contract includes a clause that he takes all corners and free kicks?? Well he shouldn't as our skipper has so much more pace on his deliveries which really trouble defences.
Jonjo is such a talent and a financial asset but in this league at his current rate of development he should only play in short bursts as bailley samedo racon are far more consistent and influential. As for Lloyd Sam he hides far too often and young scotty showed us today that a CAFC winger can go outside the fullback and put in a telling cross.
Well reams there it is incoherent rants on the game but a contribution for othersto respond to. By the way WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE WE ARE TOP THE LEAGUE!!!!!! ;-)

Anyway, well done lads for keeping up the pressure on Leeds!Come on you reds!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway,

Excellent post redredroosta, couldn't agree more.
What gets me is we all put our energies into this that and the other during the week talking about different topics but when it comes down to the one that matters most this place becomes a ghost town, I cannot find any other forum online from any club that has no activity on a match day.
This forum has become a big part of my life, I could never walk away but at times I must admit I feel like doing so, im embarrassed by Saturday's on here tbh.
What I suggest is that people try to make more of an effort, post a player ratings thread, a thoughts on the game thread and post match comments thread and anything else you can think of and let's get a matchday feel to this place.

I usually do make a post on Saturdays, as still looking after young teens am usually at home. But you write something looking for some feedback and usually nothing much happens. I log on regularly, but I am finding that there are one or two IN posters, and others don't get a response. Say I'm wrong.

Have to agree there mate. Many a time that i've made a post or comment that gets 'blanked' unless you're 'IN' with the crowd that's commenting.

Can't say I agree with the IN crowd comment, 300 people have joined this site, 250 of which don't post but do read threads, that is down to personal choice but those who post I can safely say whether it's 1 thread or several daily, there is no clique from where im standing, I don't like them (cliques) and I would always discourage a forum within a forum.

Certainly wouldn't include you Reams, as I know you formed this site to avoid that sort of thing, that was happening on other sites, and you always try to get things going. It's just a feeling that this is the direction things are going. See above. Don't know what you do about it, but I'll keep having a go.

I think for us to get things out in the open I need some feedback in private, you can all contact me on the e-mail above so those that want to get what ever it is off their chest feel free to do so.
Any ideas are welcome and any complaints will be taken seriously.

Sorry Reams. I rarely see any football on the weekends these days as I'm working and play catchup on a Sunday night.

I fully appreciate that WillieD and if I had the chance to work I would too.
The request was aimed towards those who do attend games regularly and maybe have the time after it to post some feedback on here.

Getting home around 8.00pm to find that the wife has been taken into hospital and getting there to see her, outweighed what I thought of the match or this board.
For info she had an operation last November and to date the medical profession are at a loss to understand why she has internal burning some 11 months on, as a result of which she's housebound.
My thoughts on the game are simple, without headless chicken Shelvey the boys played like a team, instead as in previous games allowing the play to revolve around Jonjo. Second half sub, Samedo, showed the class we've been missing these last five games.
A good display and three points well earned, end of report!

Firstly, valleyviper,I hope your wife is okay and her situation can get sorted ASAP as family wellbeing is THE most important thing as when all is said and done it is only a football club.I sincerely hope she gets well soon, mate. I have to agree 100% with the Shelvey comment as I feel that he is getting to believe in the hype surrounding him and could end up doing a 'Scotty parker' and leaving well before he needs to and ends up with his career drifting from club to club.As fo Semedo,I think he is a top drawer player when he can be bothered. I understand that we all have lives and important things we have to deal with other than CAFC but I do get so annoyed at our apparent lack of passion - which i'm sure most honest Charlton fans would say seems lacking at times. All the best to you, your wife and family mate.

Likewise VV hope your wife will fully recover soon, mine went in this year and it's a worrying time. Mine's fine though. Don't totally agree with VV, as I thought that despite going ahead early in the 1st half, we were second best for most of that, with Shelvey's replacement Mcleod falling over most of the time. Definite game of 2 halves. Semedo on, Mcleod changes his boots and we look a different side. Totally bossed the 2nd half. Shelvey certainly needed a rest, but the loss of Semedo has been the difference recently. Spring has done nothing wrong generally (though had a dodgy 1st half), but he doesn't give us the impetus from the base of midfield that Semedo does.

Valleyviper firstly I hope that Mrs T is on the mend and please accept my best wishes to you both, I hope she has a speedy recovery.
Relating back to the thread and I am a little bit concerned that I have been misunderstood. Family life and other commitments will always come first for us all and I never meant to come across as stating something otherwise. All I was saying was for those that can, it would be great to have a bit more matchday activity on here where we can all exchange views and read all of your opinions, one of the fascinating things about a football forum is how differently people see the game.
I was just trying to point out how disjointed the forum is sometimes, we all give our opinions leading up to a Saturday on what the formation should be and who should play etc atc but then on the matchday itself there's nothing to read.
I odn't get to many games an although I could click on to newsnow to read the various reports, I would much prefer to read the comments from fellow Charlton fans.
Already this thread has generated various views on the Huddersfield game and it's great to see because we can all relate back to the game and get the matchday feel.
