Very pleased he's signed a new one year contract.
True, Matt is not the player he was but having a happy and contented 'squad' of players is a lot to do with balance both on and off the pitch.
I don't necessarily expect him to be automatic first choice next season but having him around the place doing all the right things as a first class dependable pro with all the right attitudes and who 'always' gives of his best, is worth it's weight in gold at the club and it sets a tone.
Just as a similar example, look at Ryan Giggs....not the greatest nowadays and probably not first on the team sheet any longer(he could easily move on and get first team football elsewhere) but he's been kept around because of his attitude and influence...every successful club needs a Matt Holland /Ryan Giggs character around the place.
