We now have one chairman Murray...he is now in charge of the whole club with 6 directors under him. The rest have all resigned from the board...... Waggott keeps his role how It looks like streamlining again to make a full takeover easy...... Hatter is moving up the ladder in power....and they say they are still looking for new owners.. I reckon Murray and Hatter have cleared the dead wood from the board room, got Chappell to stand down and now have a clear run on getting a group together to buy the remaining 5 members out.....Murray and Hatter have stopped the sale of the training ground and other assets again to make the club look more stable to outside investors We will see how this new board works in Jan.....

I see were you are coming from, the rumor Mill always had Chaps down as the problem and now that problem has gone, which would make negotiations easier one would expect??

i think that this proves Murray is smarter than some have been making him out to be...also he can be forthright when required. Chappel came in when Murray wanted it & now it seems he has moved on, seemingly as Murrays 'request'.

Roger Alwen, Richard Collins, Gideon Franklin, Michael Grade, Martin Simons, Michael Stevens and Derek Ufton have all agreed to resign their directorships, and have all been appointed as vice presidents of the club in recognition of their outstanding contribution to Charlton over many years. " As for Hatter very much in the background in the past mentioned a lot on the report, more seeminly invloved "

In context, bit harsh calling some who've stepped down, deadwood... Can't see how "streamlining the board" will have much effect on any takeover? Did those stepping down, have any real clout in takeover negotiations, anyway?

I reckon old Chappell was part of a takeover and failed.

Sorry don't buy that one... You can get a split from 2 upwards... Surely some directors have more voting clout, especially regarding serious issues such as takeovers?

All total guesswork - which I suppose is the main roll of a blogsite - but quite irrelevant and only the individuals concerned understand what happened and their reasons behind it.
Is it good or bad news??? Its neither it is (limited) hard fact news and we will all have to wait fr the next chapter.
Do I think its positive/negative/neutral?? Who really cares BUT as a blogsite participant I believe that the financial input/keeping freehold within the PLC/Murray regaining control of a smaller board that should find decision making far easier 'appears to be more positive than negative.
The true positive is played 8 won 6 lost none!!
