Sounding like we have asked about Ali Al-Hamidi on loan from Ipswich.

Was this who we thought we were buying in the Summer?
Whilst you'd never say no to a quality striker. I'm not sure that's our priority when we create so little. I REALLY hope it's not our priority!

Surely that means Hylton would be gone and Kanu likely loaned out?

Campbell going back, and looking at what formations might work / who we need to create more chances.

A priority for me and it’s a HUGE one is a proper attacking midfielder.

Think we need a striker as don’t think Godden is good enough I don’t think Godden or our forward players are the problem…..it’s the two quality midfielders with creativity and goals in them that we are so desperately missing and have been since the summer…. Not having any decent defensive CB cover has also been a problem

Godden, Alan Campbell, Docherty, Watson. Kanu and Berry are all a waste of space.

I like the lad - he reminds me a bit of Karlan Grant but in truth it presents a) as largely shopping in the same market (1 Championship start, 1 League 1 start , decent League 2 numbers) b) as offering little clarity in the final third c) a divergence from the previous recruitment discipline. I will welcome any uplift in quality or option but it doesn’t address the key shortfalls. An elite keeper, a LCB upgrade and at least one functioning creative influence in midfield. I half suspect maybe this is because of a further extended delay with Aneke, a slower recovery by Leaburn or complications with the T. Campbell injury. With the lad under contract at Ipswich until 2028 I am not sure it presents as a brave new world.

Hopefully not a replacement for Miles if that were a plan. I'm just still suspicious of our smt motives.

Unless and until we are targeting automatic promotion and two points per game, why worry about another keeper upgrade nor yet more centre backs? We have six and our goals conceded / expected goals against is one of the best in the League. The question is how much of that is about packing the rest of the side with defensive minded players? It's very hard to assess Godden, Leaburn etc when the attacking side of midfield isn't functioning. If one of us were to meet someone in authority at the club, then we should surely ask "what is it that they are trying to do, what changes are required, how much will it cost, and how long will it take? We will soon see how this process takes shape in the 2025 windows plus coaching, tactics and team selection in between. Next three months gonna be fascinating, and shape the club for the forseeable future.

What concerns me is there are people getting paid to sign players . At the end of the window , every single fan said we need a creative midfielder which we didn’t get, and we wonder why we can’t score goals. Every fan said we are an injury in defence away from lining up with tennai watson and Gillesphey in the team. Players that contributes to our poor season last year.
So jones moaning about injuries has no sympathy from me to be honest. He brought in all these players to make us ‘categorically better than last year’ which we are not and on top of that signed all his old mates that were good in 2018

I wonder what the response would be?
