Premier League years to the Charlton of today

I know there are the likes of Bradford, Wigan and Barnsley out there but given what we had during teh Curbs years, is there another club out there who have taken a bigger fall from grace than what we have?

From Curbs to Slade, the Belgian misfits, Karl Robinson, Dean Holden, Appleton and the rest! Bowyer to his credit was the exception.

Then there's are the owners. I know people turned on Richard Murray but he tops the list of being the best owner we have had in the last quarter of a century, like him or loathe him. RD put together one of our best squads for years but the rest were wrongens.

GFP want to be liked but don't have the funds to do anything like Slater and Jiminez did. They want to give it a go they said but ended up selling teh only footballer who could score goals to finance it.

The money that was going to bring JCH, Nombe and Collins to the club could never have existed. If it did one of them would be playing alongside Alfie May right now.

Instead we have a a handful of strikers who combined have scored three goals between them in eight games!

What a fcking basket case of a club.

The decline of Charlton goes back to the early 2000`s when Murray et al. Should have looking for a billionaire buyer of the club. At the time there was a rush of such interest in the Premiership, it was already obvious that the owners then did not have the money to fund a prem squad that would be able to compete for much longer.
