As player coach on a short term contract .. not sure why it’s taken this long to announce he signed few weeks back ?
Charlton Athletic are pleased to confirm that Danny Hylton has joined the club as a player-coach on a short-term deal.
The vastly-experienced striker, who has tasted three EFL promotions, featured for the Addicks during pre-season, scoring in the 6-1 win at Dartford.
Nathan Jones is delighted to be working alongside the 35-year-old once again after handing him 158 appearances at Luton Town. He said: “Danny is someone I know very, very well who is a true professional. He will be an important member of our squad and coaching team.

Time will tell but this feels more like jobs for his mates than any of the other signings.

Can't see the owners allowing the signing if they didn't think they are getting value for money.

Time will tell but this feels more like jobs for his mates than any of the other signings. When a team has a bad run of results, who is it gets the tin tack? Has a player EVER been sacked for playing badly? Or is it always the head coach/manager? On that basis, can anyone honestly be surprised that NJ is surrounding himself with people he knows, and trusts?

I think you can judge the excitement value of this signing by the amount of posts on here discussing his arrival……..🤔🤔 No problem from me with him bringing in more coaching staff, especially staff that trusts and thinks will add value…… but I can’t t see him featuring at all in front of our other 7 forwards……

Can't see the owners allowing the signing if they didn't think they are getting value for money. I liked in NJ's pre match he mentioned DH's "Tom foolery" nice way to say shithousery without actually saying it haha. If DH can coach the dark arts im all for it,and dish a bit out himself when needed.

Ahadme would definitely benefit from a bit of Tom Foolery and it is a quality word ain’t it 😂 I’ve even started using it on the kids!
