I know there are contractual obligations and I expect Sky have an input but the decision to wear the third strip at Shrewsbury was wrong.
I watched the game in the pub here in Spain as usual and we all agreed it was hard to tell the 2 sides apart.
Close up shots were fine but the regular TV angle and view made it hard to distinguish who was who.
Surely the priority should be to make sure the fans have a good view but who cares about fans these days!!
The home kit would have been perfect!

I was at the game and staring into the sun from the away end and it was difficult at times especially when play was down the opposite end.

A clash between Dark Grey against Blue and Orange?
I can't say I personally had any issues. Agree that the home kit would've been fine though.
Is it less the clash and more the Dark grey? I always remember the Man U grey kit that they hated as they didn't do well with it. They binned it off in the end, saying they couldn't find each other on the pitch if I remember correctly.

This is a real bug bear of mine too. Now that teams all have three kits each, there's no reason to ever have teams playing in shirts that are hard to differentiate on TV, but it seems to happen quite often

This is a real bug bear of mine too. Now that teams all have three kits each, there's no reason to ever have teams playing in shirts that are hard to differentiate on TV, but it seems to happen quite often It’s all about the money. It’s all about trying to extract as much money as possible from a limited number of fans. Why have two shirts that last two seasons when you can have three each season. It won’t triple the shirt sales but I suspect that some will buy more than one a season. I feel for the parents that have more than one child that is a fan. The kids shirts are £40. If you have two kids and they want all of the shirts you are looking at £240 every year. We should wear red unless, and only unless, it clashes. The second kit could be chosen to ensure that we never need a third one. Apparently, Man City have four shirts this season - one being a limited edition ‘Oasis’ shirt being used in the Champions League. It wouldn’t be so bad if it were not for the fact that players, and members of the SMT are all earning a fortune. Those parents that are struggling so that the players and SMT can live like royalty. Sometimes I am disgusted with modern football.

With roughly 15% of the male population being colour-blind (like myself) I'm amazed this is still allowed to happen. Statistics suggest that at least 2 players on the pitch would have been colour-blind. Would be interesting to know if anyone in the Charlton squad does suffer from this deficiency. If colour blindness was treated as a disability, I'm guessing that more would be done about it. However, for the moment, money talks.
