Got to admit I was a bit critical of Jones last season for making poor defensive decisions but so far this season the fella has been a complete revelation and our best defender to date…
He is so much more hungry to win that first ball and get in front of his forward and I don’t recall him missing a defensive header to date……..Deserves to be VC and deserves to be nominated for this month…..

He messed up for Reading’s second goal and was slow closing down the Rotherham goal scorer on Saturday . Apart from that he is much improved on last season , definitely a lot fitter .

My take on his comment is that he is hoping for a contract offer which suggests that conversation hasn't begun yet. I find that difficult to understand as if we leave it too long then we could lose him for nowt.

That's how I read it too,im not saying we must agree to whatever his agent is asking for ASAP,more a case of get the ball rolling and hopefully come to an agreement,Jones and Mitchell have been mostly solid. |
