We’ve improved but not enough.

The quality of last season’s squad was very poor.

Alfie May’s goals were the main thing that stopped us from getting relegated.

Does anyone really think we haven’t improved on this?

Only two players remain from the above team and both played today.

The squad overhaul has improved us but just how you can replace 15 players and not replace them with a younger version of May who scores goals for fun is beyond belief really.

Like I said we have gone gung-ho in midfield. I find it a little bit obsessive myself, almost child like that so many havbe been brought in.

We are nowhere near the likes of Birmingham and Wrexham I'm afraid and won't go up via the play-off's because we won't score enough to get us in that position.

I've been roped into going to Birmingham a week on Monday for the televised game between Brum and Wrexham. 30+ of us going on the train early doors. It's an opportunity to catch up with a few mates and have a few beers.

No doubt there will be some fun and games which is why I'm going really but as for the football, it'll be watching a game from a higher division.

Back to us. I hope we haven't got the same owners if and when we finally reach the Championship again. They haven't got building a squad for that level in them. Why we pay a technical director thousands of pound a year when clearly it's NJ pulling the strings is beyond me.

We would have lost this game 2-0 with last seasons squad………absolutely no doubts about that……..

They were the better side but apart from another worldie I didn’t think we were likely to concede…..

A game lacking quality but with two worldie goals…..
