Glad NJ has broken his stance on loan players. Hopefully it opens the door for a couple more.
Well done Tony for being in the know last week!

Interesting signing. Looks very positive. Do we know much about him? Played regularly for Luton in the Championship, but it doesn’t seem to have worked out at Millwall where his last game was in December last year. Did he pick up an injury?
Seems to me we’ve done well to sign him. For what it’s worth, I don’t think Jones will either want or need to rotate Coventry. What we now seem to have is four number ‘8’s, Anderson, Berry, Campbell and Docherty, who I guess Jones will look to rotate, both within and between matches.
We now need to find that creativity and goal threat. Another striker would be nice, but I can’t see it though. Mind you, Miles Leaburn will be like a new signing. There’s no reason he won’t come back fitter and stronger and when it comes to replacing Alfie May it’s worth reflecting on some data.
Last season May scored 17 non penalty goals in League One in 38.5 ninety minutes equivalent. In the 2022-23 season, when just 18/19, Leaburn scored 12 non penalty goals in League One in 20.3 ninety minutes equivalent. If Leaburn can get anywhere near the energy and dynamism of Ahadme he’s going to make a big difference. It’s not implausible that Leaburn will out score May while making a much bigger all round contribution to the side.
Funny old game sometimes, but in a reversal of the norm our focus during the rest of this transfer window will likely be on the “outs” rather than any more “ins” with an eye elsewhere on possible moves for Gomez and Lookman. I imagine the next GFP Board meeting will be a much more cheerful affair.

One of my all time favourite players from yesteryear was Alan Campbell, terrific midfield dynamo. Memories are wonderful things🤣
Good to have another body on board - but I would like a goal scorer, is Mr Campbell that man?

I'm assuming that there is a possible fee at end of loan to make this permanent if all goes well. The boss don't like improving other clubs players, so this is a possible perm

I think this may clear the way for sending out Fraser on loan.
If the maths are done properly, the amount that we have to pay Fraser's salary, can be offset against the amount Luton pay on Campbell's salary.

I have it on good authority that Scott will be 100% gone by the close of the window, possibly sooner.

As Big Andy has said for a good few years why can’t we sign players with the Millwall attitude of not being beaten and not being bullied? Well NJ has clearly changed all that!

It’s great isn’t it….Bolton were bullied by us on Saturday….long may this attitude continue 100% pal! When Gus Poyet brought down his Seagulls back in Div 3 and totally bossed the game with their high press I always moaned why couldn’t we have a manager/players to high press opponents? It’s taken a decade but at long last we have a squad capable of doing so. There will be potential wobbles along the way but I see the potential of us having attendances of 15 to 18k as the season progresses. CAFC have so many fans who don’t come to games but woukd do so if we were successful and Saturday sent the first message that we mean business. If our form continues I see a large attendance for the Brum home game in early October. We can only hope!

Described with my mate with a Luton season ticket just now as "a box to box midfielder who will lead a press and can carry the ball, who would tackle his nan for the last ginger biscuit'

And now we have a fifth credible central midfield option. Not long ago we were all hoping for a third! Really looking forward to how we do these next few games - all to play for!

A fair point re bullying Bolton, or is just being well hard! I based my observation on the fact that some Bolton players were throwing tantrums at the ref after a robust challenges and not manning up…. Also they took some of their “key” players off at half time, clearly as a reaction to the fact that we weren’t going to roll over as we’ve done in previous years… even their manager post match noticed a difference. Like you, I’m looking forward to the next few games as well
