Crawling back now he needs a job, after refusing to work when he was contracted.

Fantastic servant to the club. Wonderful to see him back. Really don't get why some fans are so bitter. Apparently Alfie hates the manager but fans want him to stay!!

Jeez Reams that was a little too obvious- you’re just being contrary to generate a reaction - wum

Having over 300 appearances for the club, and being a former player of the year leaves him in huge credit in my book. Those of you upset by the way he left need to reflect back and remember he wasn't being picked and had a young family to worry about. It was a personal choice, not a slight on Charlton

No comparison with what Taylor did. Chris was a real student of the game and always wanted to go into coaching and ultimately management. He was a great guest at East Kent Addicks some years ago and laid out his plans for when he stopped playing. This is clearly the first step.

I am glad to see him back. I think there was more to the story when he left, that we haven't heard..

Jeez Reams that was a little too obvious- you’re just being contrary to generate a reaction - wum Come again? Not into generating reactions, just stating my opinion which is Chris Solly will always be a Charlton man to me. Best right back in my 40 years as a fan.

Although Solly did cut in better than Luke ever could.

Great to have him back, not many players spend as much of their career dedicated to one club!

Can’t have been easy being a cafc player in recent years and not sure people have the full picture re his departure.
A loyal and solid pro so welcome his new contribution to the team.
Only downside I can see is he’s only 5ft 3.

JH was top division and only didnt get an England cap due to playing for a meh club. Luke did but not as good a player.

Great to see him back at the club and looking so well.
One of my favourite all time players and deserves to be back where it all began for him..
If our youngsters can benefit from anyone it's Chris and Json Pearce.
Really don't know how some people can have a downer on a club legend.

I agree life is too short, so welcome back Chris Solly. He gave pretty much his whole life to Charlton, its a shame injuries ruined his career, he was becoming one of the best right backs around.
I have no problem him leaving when he did, he wasn't first choice and injuries had caught up with him and it wouldn't of made a difference to the relegation fight at the time in my eyes.
That season can only be blamed on the owners who completely shafted Bowyer.

Must have bad for a seemingly calm lad to do this.
