Excellent workout stand out players Fraser and Campbell , think Bishop grew into the game and it was good to see Jones and Taylor finally get 45 mins after their injury problems .
Overall good 45 mins for the boys most important no
injuries .

How’s Teddy Bishop playing? Ok nothing special. Campbell has certainly bulked up (as have Assimwe and Kanu) and looked quite sharp, Taylor did well in midfield, Tierry putting a few crosses in. |

That’s why Fraser needs to stay very clever pass .. to Campbell well taken goal He does not have physicality to be able to do what Jones wants from him. We have already see that Jones is willing to get rid of players that don't fit he's style and system. In less your going to play him as a number 10 and have two work houses behind.I don't see Jones doing that. |

Really liked the look of Berry and Ahadme, bit worried why the latter has his knee heavily strapped!
Looking forward to seeing Godden and Ahadme as our front two. Tayo Edun played his part in midfield and the new left wing back, Edwards, is going to push Tierry all the way for the starting position, which is great for us.
Hope they have a great week away bonding with the new lads!

Have to say that was very impressive and will only get better as they play more together the front 3 Berry Godden and Ahedme looked really good .. Ahedme his hold up play and bringing people into
Play was top draw
Edwards looked good , Coventry controlled mid, defence and keeper not really tested but Z Mitchell done himself no harm ..
Very good afternoon run out and the signs look very good

League 1 is more physical, and having heard how vocal and demanding NJ is on the touch, sadly I can’t see him fitting … it’s a shame |

Ok it was only a friendly against poor opposition but initial thoughts….
Mitchell, Jones + 1 will be a decent back three
Impressed with Edward’s, we are well sorted down that left hand side
Didn’t really notice Bishop that much but Fraser apart from one really good pass lumbered around the park continually getting caught in possession…….the difference between him and Berry was very plain to see……The link up play between Berry, Godden and Adhame was really impressive to see considering it was our first outing
Adhadme showed some really nice hold up play and nice touches but what I noticed was his physicality as he brushed off his centre back a couple of times like he wasn’t there….look forward to seeing how the partnership of Godden and Adhadme develops as they are both intelligent and hardworking players…..I think our press will be a lot better this season with them two up top

He looked to me a pretty bog standard league one midfielder today, didn’t stand out like Berry and you can’t see him getting in front of Coventry, Berry and Docherty…..personally if we are bringing in another midfielder we should bring in better……… Taylor was nice and tidy today and played the water carrier role really well but he was hardly put under any pressure……… |

Not sure how much we’ve learnt this afternoon, but we do seem to have very clear confirmation of how Nathan Jones plans to play. That’s in a 3-5-2 with one ‘6’ and two ‘8’s.
The good news, obviously, is that for the first time in many seasons not only do we appear to have a clear playing strategy but we’ve recruited the players for it. That alignment may appear to be such a basic requirement, but for lots of reasons it’s not what we’ve typically been doing.
It’s probably of little significance, but I thought it was interesting that Ramsey played RCB, Edwards as LWB and Edun as an ‘8’. Taylor and Coventry shared duties at ‘6’ and appeared to have little licence to get forward.
