Absolutely awful, terrible news! I literally only found out a few minutes ago and I’m reeling with the shock news of this!
Condolences to his immediate family, friends and his fellow Millwall team mates.
What a year my club has had. It’s been less than a year since we lost our beloved chairman, John Berylson, and now this! Absolutely unbelievable sad news.
26 years is no age for anyone to pass, but for Matty to have come in last season and done so well in helping us stay up as well as contributing to our five consecutive straight wins at the end of the season was phenomenal. We all thought he was going to be even better this season, and now this!
The club was already looking for a decent No. 2 goalkeeper to challenge Matty this season, now sadly Harris has to double that number.
I genuinely don’t know how the club and players will pick themselves up from this!
Thank you to the number of Charlton fans who have already posted their condolences on this forum, and thank you for the ones that will follow this post.
It’s times like this when any hatred or rivalry of fans is put aside to come together to mourn the loss of a fellow football player. We all love our game, but when something like this happens, it’s good to know fans of other clubs can rally round to offer their support.

I see conspiracy theories regarding Russian foul play starting to appear on Millwall forums. (Sarkic's dad was Montenegro's ambassador to the UK, EU and elsewhere.)
Hopefully just wild rumours, but Budva (where he died) is just along the coast from Tivat - home to Porto Montenegro, a marina almost entirely occupied by the yachts of Russian billionaire 'friends of Putin'.

Saw him live not even 1,5 weeks ago when the Montenegro NT played Belgium, he was outstanding. Tragic news.

As much as we hate them, rivalry is put to one side in these situations.
Nobody wants to see a young man lose his life, 26 is no age at all and he had a good career ahead of him.
A real tragedy.

It is obviously tragic whenever a player dies young, regardless of what club they play for. I don't think there is any fan of Charlton Athletic and hopefully of any other club who thinks otherwise.
