I guess as it's our first signing, people were expecting something earth shattering. For me I'm happy to see how he works out. I remember a lot of people dismissing the signing if Dobbo, and I thought Charlie Kirk would be a great addition, so let's see how the players do on the pitch before we write them off.

Remember watching Mannion against us at Cambridge, he came and collected everything and made saves which kept them in the game until Isted dived under a Bonne balloon kick….🤣🤣

Interesting that the web site says: "We’re looking to bring in two goalkeepers...".
That says a lot about AMB and Isted or, rather, what Jones thinks about them.

I think Cawley came out at the end of the season and said he had been told we were after two new keepers and this was a particular area they needed strengthening which must have been pretty brutal to hear for Isted and AMB Would imagine Isted or AMB or both were told they were not part of NJ’s plans at their end of season review meeting NJ was very critical of Isted throwing away 2 points at Northampton when we were in total control of the game and then the same thing happened again at Cambridge where Mannion kept Cambridge in the game before Isted dived under a Bonne Beach ball bouncing shot…..again costing us another 2 points when we were in total control of the game….I think NJ thought if we had swapped the two keepers over we would have won the game…..I would imagine this finished NJ off on the goal keeping front….🤣🤣 |

I'd be more than happy with that, although I've never seen him play so he could be another Thierry Small or another Matt Penney - but I have much more faith in our ability to identify talent now. I, personally, think I am more excited about Luke Berry but, as I say, I trust Jones to build a team that will be successful for us. |
