Oxford just scored. Who do people want to win?
Personally would rather Bolton go up as I feel they are the better team overall.
It’s already going to be tougher next year with the teams coming down and others coming up.

Incidentally poor fan turnout compared to us v Sunderland.

Bolton have been dreadful…..you wonder if they will be able to keep Charles and Santos for another season….both are Championship class

Bolton were the team that celebrated with the crowd and were drinking beers and stuff in the crowd after the semi final weren’t they?
They were acting like they’d been promoted there and then. I thought it was odd behaviour at the time. Seems like they did think they were promoted!
Charlie will be happy I guess

Well done Oxford, thoroughly deserved it. A club that has recruited really well and deserved to go up…….something we need to emulate……

Well done Oxford. Definitely the wrong result from our perspective. Bolton’s revenues are twice ours (while ours are a third higher than Oxford’s) and they’ll almost certainly have a bigger wage budget than we will next season. By my reckoning this means our wage budget will rank fifth at best, behind Birmingham, Bolton, Huddersfield and Wrexham. We’ll need to execute well. Two observations about Oxford United. First, when we’ve discussed managers and/or head coaches newyorkaddick has consistently advocated finding a bright young coach with potential who will willingly buy into the strategy while being creative and imaginative. Des Buckingham is a great example of such a coach and an inspired choice by Oxford. Interesting that just like Liam Manning he came out of the City Football Group. Second, Ruben Rodrigues looked a very clever player at Notts County last season (where he was also on the winning side in the playoff final) and had run his contract down. There was no guarantee he’d be able to manage the step up but what a very good value for money signing he’s been. Forty four league starts and based on the highlights I’ve seen of today’s game he again made a telling contribution. Good luck to Oxford next season. PS Really nice and genuinely warm feedback from Paul Warne to Buckingham post match. Well done him. Good luck to both of them next season.

I agree with newyorkaddick about a young manager but I just don’t think the fans would have accepted it after Appleton - even though Appleton was the complete opposite of what NYA is advocating. One could argue that Nathan Jones was one of these bright young coaches a few years back. His successes at Luton have been overshadowed by the failures at Southampton and Stoke, or he wouldn’t have joined us. Or am I just clutching at straws?
