Is anyone else having trouble watching this?
It wouldn't play so I logged into to CharltonTV and they are now telling me that my payment details are out of date, which is not a surprise as I don't buy anything from them.
Do I really have to pay to watch Charlie's PR to try to convince me to buy a season ticket?

No need for any Charlton TV account.

I think it’s a good interview, with good questions and sensible balanced answers…….. to get credibility, I’d like to see transfer activity sooner than later… ie seeing the released list literally after the last game of the season and new players starting to come in early.

The most important 90 seconds in that interview was that the football technical team had met recently with the owners who have agreed to support them with funding in the summer as they are all aligned in wanting the same things….. I know this has all been said before but my gut feel is that we are going to get in some real quality this summer, how many we shall get in we shall have to wait and see but NJ has stated any signings coming in will improve the team and not be squad fillers so I am expecting around 8 new faces……… a keeper, 2 centre backs, a wingback cover for Small, 3 new midfielders and a new goal scoring forward….. and I think he will offer Wickham a one year deal also
It’s going to be a very interesting week coming up when we see who is being released and a very interesting June on the recruitment front

Very good interview but it’s what we’ve heard before from previous owners. Like Charlie said, action speaks louder than words.
Like what the owners have done so far but this window is make or break.

Without Reading others comments....Charlie's interview
The man is clearly eloquent and presents his points logically. And most importantly I think he 'gets the club' His ideas for growth to my mind are spot on. The engagement in the local community , growth 'local ' support , yes. I recall having a online debate with sage of all knowledge Councillor Everitt in which he dismissed somewhat local support development in favour of marketing the club 'as a good place to watch premiership football. And the bus services The buses are important but that local focus , Greenwich to Eltham , Welling, Bexleyheath to Darford Woolwich Abbey Wood to Thamesmead.and Erith....Too much 'Wall in those traditional areas..has developed.
The football side..The infrastructure and Manager feels right, the 'will' to get the team right seems to be there... So now commeth the hour commeth the transfers ( and exits) This is the real test!
So all in Confidence is as high as it's been since before Murray lost the plot !

Mr. Methen is an excellent speaker and his interview leaves me with a feeling of confidence going forward, as he himself says 'actions speak louder than words', but for the first time in many a year I am really looking forward to next season.
I am expecting some real quality to walk through the door in the coming months and believe we have the best manager possible to take us back to where we belong! As 'Surridge' above says, the infrastructure does feel right now (maybe Andy Scott apart!) and that infrastructure and the owners should be able to support Nathan Jones to do the job we all want him to.
I'm always 'glass half full' this season we need a nice frothy head on the top of it!

So all in Confidence is as high as it's been since before Murray lost the plot ! Will try to watch later. I would add that the timing is as good as it gets! Not dissimilar to six years back in 2018: - New manager takes over and delivers improved results - Aspiration to step up over the summer 2024 has already seen new players, new manager and new Director of Performance - and there's a marked improvement in xGA / goals conceded. But our attacking threat and creativity is significantly weaker than 2018, let alone spring 2019. The difference compared to Sandgaard era is that we hear both Methven and Jones acknowledge that. And that there's both a plan and appetite to resolve.

Agree with this Al, I don’t think Methen would be having this conversation if there wasn’t some serious positive stuff going on behind the scenes regarding the summer recruitment process. Timing wise he obviously wants as many bums on seats season ticket sales wise at the valley next season and the actions speak louder than words reinforces my gut feeling that we are going to invest quite heavily in a promotion campaign……hopefully with the intent and speed in which Pompey did last summer When you look at it brutally how many shoe in starters do we think we currently have in this squad for next season…….Small, Ramsay, May and a hopefully fit again Leaburn……..that’s a lot of gaps to fill with incoming first team players players……

He comes across well but heard it all before now is the time to deliver because words won't mask the fact he and his cohorts have provided us with our lowest league position in almost a century.

Very good interview, saying all the right things, things can only get better!
Nothing is guaranteed in football but I think we are taking the right steps.

Expected to dislike the interview but found him very impressive....honest, realistic and eloquent.
The focus on attracting more fans from the immediate area close to The Valley makes considerable sense meanwhile as there's nowhere to park a bloody car anymore.

Agreed that Methven was very eloquent as well as a realistic appraisal of their first season in charge. There's no point in talking about next season in detail - the football management need to identify and land the players throughout the summer. One wonders what they're doing on the commercial wrt to sponsorship and advertising, and what the numbers will look like once there's success on the pitch. We could be in a very good place next September but hard to tell % chances just now.

Talk is cheap but there is something about these new owners that I really like and trust.

He's articulate and has a polished professional PR manner and I want to believe that the future looks bright with this lot in charge BUT, whatever the mitigating circumstances, they have overseen a terrible season with some terrible signings, including one hopeless manager. In addition to which, although we might all be glad of the fact that Jones dragged us out of the relegation threat. the 'unbeaten run' he has overseen has not really been a promising 'winning run' that bodes well for next season. In addition to which, the Dobson farrago, indicates that the manager and one of the SMT don't share opinions on players' worth.

Can't disagree with any of that, just hope from now on they get everything right. Give us a good side playing attractive football, automatic promotion and most of us will be happy to put this season in the bin and look to the future.

Everything needs context. To go from not winning in 16~ (?) to unbeaten in 14 is a hell of a turnaround.
They took over late in the transfer window and took over a club which had been run by a well meaning but incompetant owner for the last few years. Previous to that, the owners were even worse. No owner is coming in and throwing cash at players before seeing under the bonnet. I think we were always going to step backwards before we stepped forwards.
A lot of the changes the new ownership team have made are medium to long term strategies. They won't change things overnight. They are rebuilding the foundations correctly again after years of neglect and miss management.
I still have LOTS of questions about our football team even in the 14 unbeaten run. We are by no means a play off team. We've done enough to allow us to stay in the division and avoid a complete disaster of a season.
There's still so much to do, but there are some positive signs. I think that's what most are saying. We're certainly not saying this season went well.

Pretty much sums it up for me, bang on the money 👍 I am looking forward to this summer recruitment process, I think it will differ from recent previous ones, I can see our business being done quite quickly and some real quality coming in………just my gut feeling……..Although I will be concerned if we start giving new contracts to our existing defenders who have conceded 60 odd goals…….Ness will be the cheap back up….but we need new first team starter centre backs to come in and not squad players…..
