Anyone who thinks otherwise might as well lie by Dobbo's front door and let him use their face as a doormat. Oooh, top comedy scriptwriting in that last line. It *is* brilliant, isn't it? A heady blend of Oscar Wilde's caustic satire, Monty Pythonesque surrealism and a bit of Bill Hicks style brutalism. I'm thinking of getting T-shirts made with that line on in 240 point Comic Sans, white on black. £29.99 each inc UK postage. What size should I put you down for? 4XL so there's enough room for all your love of Dobbo? Or XXS like my penis?

That's kind of the whole point I'm (via the medium of clumsy satire) making. A fan of the Hungarian club has today posted on CL that they'd agreed to pay us circa £400k to take Dobson in February and they will be wanting £1m+ to release him from the pre-contract. Both figures are of course ridiculous. They would have been paying us maybe £150k-ish for the Feb release and would want I'd guess £300k tops to release him. "But who could we get for cheaper" ask the Dobbo lickers with straight faces (whilst also ignoring the inflated salary GD would presumably now want). Just off the top of my head the following are out of contract (without having to pay a release fee) this summer: Lewis Bate Herbie Kane Idris El Mizouni Any of whom would be an upgrade on Dobbo imho. I just can't understand this obsession a large chunk of our fanbase have with keeping one of the players responsible for why we are in our current lowly predicament to begin with (he's the captain ffs)! I suspect these are the same sad people who might park across the street from the wife who divorced them five years ago's house, staring daily through a pair of binoculars for clues as to how to win her back. Give your heads a wobble lads. Let's move on. Dobson has. Andy Scott has already replaced George. It was very easy Terry Taylor... Coventry , Dobson replacement and an upgrade on Dobson , Taylor will be Coventry back up through Taylor played further forward for Burton

You have maintained your bizarre dislike of George Dobson from Day One, despite most fair minded fans thinking he’s been our stand out player these past 2 seasons (as evidenced by his POTY award). Your Dobson dislike is all the more bizarre given the way you publicly rush to defend every other tattered pair of bollocks associated with the club, from Matt Southall to Micheal Appleton. #simple

Along with the disappearance of Jones, the whereabouts of Terry Taylor is another mystery where we have no idea what is going on…..? Surely both are fit to play yet neither make NJ,’s squads, so is this a case that NJ simply doesn’t rate them or is there another reason….. I don’t recall NJ being pressed on the subject of these two…..but I might be wrong…. I might be a bit harsh but in the limited appearances that Taylor played there was nothing to suggest to me that he was an ideal back up to either Dobbo or Coventry, to me he seemed to be a bit of a sideways, backwards passing midfielder for which the game passed him by…..but others rated him highly when he was at Burton so he may turn out to be a real asset…..we shall see

It wasn't worth the risk of introducing him when he'd not be anywhere near up to speed. He had Ankle surgery at the end of last year. Probably not worth the risk of introducing him this late in the season. He'd effectively be starting pre-season right when we are ending the season. In terms of ability, I was excited about his reviews from Burton fans but haven't seen anything in a Charlton shirt to back it up. Although in his defence he's only played a few times before getting his injury and those times were basically pre-season. When every one else was just getting up to speed he got injured. I did see him in part play for u21's and he didn't light the game up in anyway. So the jury is out for me for the moment. Happy to give him the benefit of doubt for now and let NJ assess him over the summer when he's had a full pre-season. I'm hoping he's not another McGrandles, where he seems to do well for others but barely get in our team or gets injured when he does!

If, I suppose when, Dobson goes there had better be an upgrade either from an individual player or collectively as a team achieving excellent results. Most fans have seen his value to us, but talk has it that the people in the new regime have not made enough effort to keep him, then along comes Nathan Jones who can see what the majority of fans have always seen. The billionaire owners or whoever they are need to compensate for the loss of Dobson, not only for the sake of the fans but for the sake of getting results. We are losing our talisman (Anderson shows promise) who will become the next one? I doubt it will be Coventry, Taylor, Fraser or whoever is at the club at the moment…maybe it will have to be Alfie May.

If Dobson wants to stay I guess they will get round the problems if not to costly and he will. If he doesn't he will obviously go, but we will need a proper replacement.

I think that Coventry and/or Taylor are his replacements. What we need is a creative midfielder and Dobson doesn’t do that so we may well bring in a new number 10 who is likely to do a different job - even if his wages are covered by us not paying Dobson.

Unless Coventry or Taylor are suffering because they can't play alongside Dobson I don't think they are up to it.
