I like to think based on the performances since Jones has come in which has been a lot better that I like to think we’ll be challenging for the top 6 or even have another repeat of the League One Champions season.
We’ve finally got some owners and investors who are willing to spend. We can clearly see this and it’s all starting to fall into place and I’ve been enjoying most of the games recently.
Am I being too optimistic? Or do we have a realistic chance?

Am I being too optimistic? Or do we have a realistic chance? Nothing wrong with being optimistic, we've been wallowing in negativity far to long. Yes we have the best manager and owners we've had for years and yes the owners were partly responsible for the mess we found ourselves in mid season, but since Jones has arrived he has got the best out of the worst players and got the better one's playing far more consistently as though they want to wear the shirt. The future is looking much better and I too would hope that next season we will be aiming for the top spot.

It might be best to temper expectations. If we are going to challenge we will have brought in several new players and they will need time to gel.
If the fans convince themselves that we are going to be in the top two from the outset there might be a little pressure if we don't start on fire!

There's no requirement for blind faith in anybody at the club nor undue pressure and expectations. We're performing as a top ten club since Jones took over. Which is where Portsmouth and Derby were last season. Ten players will leave the squad in a month or two but not many of those feature every Saturday. So the bulk of players Jones is using are under contract for next season and beyond. We certainly have far more experience and expertise at the club than we did 12 months ago. Ideally we are able to identify and land targets.

Deep down I know your right but things have been so bad over the last few years and even now many of the posts have a negativity about them. I have found the quality of football and the negative stance so bloody depressing. So, even if I have to take a bump next season I'm going to enjoy the summer being optimistic about next season and our chances of promotion.

Me too Manikin, it’s all about the quality of players that we bring in which will determine the expectations of the fans but I am looking forward to our recruitment this summer Portsmouth, Bolton, Derby and Peterbrough have all proved this season that they have the best squads in the league and this is the level of quality of player that we need to be successful next season…..but I think NJ would be fully aware of this I am quietly confident that the owners will support NJ and bring in the quality required for us to challenge next season

Nothing wrong with having a positive outlook on our future, despite what some might say (over and over)!
It of course depends on our summer window and how quiick we sign players, but we have better foundations than we've had in a while. I'd say get excited about the potential!

Worth repeating for the hard of understanding, but we have an excellent manager & an excellent set of investors IMO. I think you’ll find that the repetition comes from the bean counters
