Gomez, Konsa, Gallagher all called up. Gallagher was only a loan, but maybe we'll get payments for Gomez and Konsa? Anyone know?

Gomez has already played for England so we have had that money and we sold konsa to Brentford so they will get any money due.

It's still good albeit a bit sad to see 2 of our youth products representing England, and Pope of course!
Let's hope the new owners will show more appetite to hang on to our young talent and progress through the league with them on board.

When England won the world cup in 1966, it had the backbone, of Hurst, Moore and Peters from West Ham....if we look at the present day squad, it also has a backbone supplied by 1 London Club, Gomez, Konsa and Gallagher. OK the last one is pushing it a bit, but hopefully this makes you less sad

The only flaw in that approach, ignoring the fact that the players want to move to bigger clubs and earn more money than we can afford, is that the sale of each player funds the development of the next one.

No interest in the England team, sadly, and haven’t had since our last credible *English* manager Terry Venables left.
Gareth Southgate is wetter than an October morning in Skegness, and Woker than a copy of the Guardian.
Any other manager would have achieved far more with this collection of players, but Southgate has had a free hit for 8 years because he keeps the FA’s sponsors happy by bending the knee etc.

I think Southgate’s contract up after the Euros

Always nice to see former (or present) CAFC players in the England squads. Something always struck me, whether they where youth products or signings, the bulk of them seemed to be defensive minded. Chris Powell, Luke Young, Danny Mills, Joe Gomez, Nick Pope, Ezri Konsa, Paul Konchesky and even Scott Parker. Wonder what that says about us as a club? 🤔

I’ve got far more interest in this England team that the one in 1966. God it bores the life out of me when everyone bangs on about the team of ~60 years ago.

Perhaps you weren't fortunate enough to experience it. Unforgettable for anyone that did. Bit of OTT reaction, tbh. One person posts a valid player comparison and to you that's 'Everyone bangs on'?

I actually wish we hadn’t won it to save the years of hearing about it ever since
