Brave of Louis to do this given he's a loanee who hasn't been playing.

If you're involved in organising this, it might be worth making a note to make sure to spell Louie Watson's first name correctly (it's Louie not Louis) on any signage you might have at the venue. Not digging you out for spelling it wrong in the header for this thread btw. Something like 90% of our fans seem to spell it wrong. Just a heads up re hopefully getting it right at the venue itself where he might see it!

Fortunately I'm not the one putting out the info, although on the committee. You do make a good point. At least I spelt Alfie right.

Just a reminder about East Kent Addicks at the Railway Club Ashford. 7pm on Monday.
Alfie May should be buzzing!
Louie Watson is now playing for the U21s so will not be there. There may be a surprise guest.
All welcome

There may be a surprise guest. All welcome I think most of us suspected that Louie (yay re spelling it right - I'm such a pedant, sorry!) might not attend, but the possibility of a surprise guest sounds exciting. Hopefully as many local local fans as possible will attend on Monday. The more who do the more gossip and titbits from the night will find their way onto this forum and elsewhere! I'd mostly want to know where Connor Wickham gets his hair done (so I don't go there) and how many of Charlton's European signings have got on or off the train to sign for us at Ashford International. Neither of which are questions for your guests (and I live nowhere near East Kent) but just things that are currently taxing my brain!

Thanks.

Great night.
Alfie was funny and very open. Louie Watson didn’t come, in the end, so Tracey Leaburn stepped in. Despite being my third favourite Leaburn (which is no insult, at all) she was great value. She shared the sequence of events of Southall’s downfall as well as telling us some fun stories of the young players that she has looked after over the years.

Yes we were really pleased, a record attendance and two excellent guests. Might have struggled 5 weeks ago. Shows the new air of positivity around. Tracey had asked Thierry Small if he could come, but it was a day off for the players and he wanted to see his family. However a glowing endorsement of this young very promising player from both the personal side (Tracey) and the playing side (Alfie). Good to meet up again KHA.

Any insights to what NJ has done in particular in comparison to Appleton to galvanise the squad? Also, curious to know more about Tracey’s view on Southall’s downfall…. Is there more that you and KHA could share on this, if appropriate?

Is there more that you and KHA could share on this, if appropriate? Tracey did talk about Southall and "her part in his downfall". I think it would be fair to say that she had him down for a rat from the beginning. Interesting that she did not share the same vitriol for the guy from Abu Dhabi, Nimar was it. I think she felt he had been duped as well. If you ever get the chance, have a chat with her. Interesting that many clubs do not have someone like her. Many of her "old" players are still in touch including Rak Saki who has suffered two ham strings on different legs this season. I remember an article about Joe Gomez feeling quite depressed when he spent a long time in a hotel in Liverpool away from family and girlfriend. Tracey ensures our young players don't suffer that. As a side note, my friend Steve bid for a 2014 signed framed shirt, with the proceeds going to a local hospice. It ended up with Alfie matching his £100 bid, so £200 went to the hospice and Steve still got the shirt. What a nice generous guest, with his time and money. The somewhat homoerotic bit about Thierry Small's physique was a little weird, but very funny. While Alfie was naturally reticent to criticise MA, in fact putting much of the blame on the players, there is clearly a buzz about the changing room now. New players have settled in well, possibly thanks to Tracey. He was particularly positive about DK and KA as well as Small and felt that clubs would be sniffing around them. Let's hope we have enough about us to keep these players.

@ Canterburyaddick…..thanks for an excellent summary…..very interesting role that Tracey plays in helping players to settle in….impressed with Alfie’s contribution with the shirt and also being diplomatic regarding MA…. Great news that the squad is buzzing and focussed…. We could have a good season next year
