That's pretty accurate apart from Henry. I'm assuming you're expecting Henry to be moved on? Where there are two names (or a name + NEW) listed as backup to the first choice in my image I mean as an either/or. I'm hoping Camara shows enough of his Plymouth form (bearing in mind he was widely regarded as the best opposition player we faced two seasons ago) for us to offer him something, in which case Henry is gone.

In terms of names I'd like to see filling the first choice gaps, maybe Christian Walton as the goalie. He was Ipswich's keeper during last year's promotion season. Has been their second choice (ie on the bench) in the Championship, is a good age (28) and out of contract in the summer. Probably won't be short of options though. I still like the look of Dan Kemp from MK Dons in the AM role (although his stats have dropped since being recalled from his Swindon loan). Haven't got a clue re the other three roles of commanding centre half, box-to-box midfielder and shithousing striker. Obviously it's way too early for speculation re summer signings though. Sorry!

Mentioned him before but Matt godden at Coventry seems to have slipped out the pecking order - knows where the goal is 👍🏻

The original article refers to the fact that we have used 46 players this season, so when Jones is talking about cutting the squad I don't think he means quite as low as some imagine. 28 players is generally speaking the norm for L1 these days. That usually means around 19 overage players (bearing in mind the squad cap for those is 22) plus 2-3 goalkeepers and half a dozen under-21s. Assuming (a pretty big assumption) we can remain in L1 what are you hoping/expecting to see in terms of changes? Here's my wishlist for next season. I've assumed that most of our overage outward loans will be moved on, alongside Taylor who NJ seems not to fancy and AMB to make way for a new first choice keeper. I've also pencilled a few whose contracts expire should they do enough for us to offer and them accept a new one (and pay off the Hungarians in Dobbo's case). My squad has around six perms plus 2-3 loans coming in, which I don't think is unfeasible for a summer transfer window and partial rebuild. I like your thinking but the usual caveats apply: We and the management need to see more games to make a call on which players to retain. And which might be in the first XI plus three subs used in the hour mark. How much can coaching, culture fitness and playing together improve current players over six and 12 months? What appetite do the owners have for player investment, and what's the objective for next season? Along with watching more games, we probably need to get the relegation monkey off of our backs. At the same time this relegation threat has delivered urgency and intensity to the mix. These final ten games will come thick and fast bringing clarity to the situation. Perhaps you will be spot on?! But its more likely that you'll be in the right ball park with some definite changes. Either way, May will be a good time to appraise our squad, as well as the January window.

Instead of speculating about a mythical date some time in the future, we could just accept that our current squad has put us in a relegation battle that could see us relegated to Div 4 for *the first time in the club’s history*. Ergo - the vast majority of this squad isn’t good enough. I am not sure why we need to watch the next 10 games, when the previous 30-50 have demonstrated that most of them are clearly not good enough.

The current squad is the best we have had for a while. Fact is, it's taken a good manager to get a tune out of them. Appleton was the problem. Not sure how it's happened but we are now looking solid defensively. The midfield needs tweaking with a new face or two Up front is the issue. Don't rate Ladapo at all and May isn't an all round striker.

Alfie has scored 17 so far in the league. 5 are pens. Even if someone can't score that many, they can offer assists to others. What's interesting to me is that in the top goalscorers list for league one there is only one player on there with 0 assists. Can you guess who? www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/league-one/top-scorers

Don't rate Ladapo at all and May isn't an all round striker. I’d agree that we are looking far more motivated & better organised under Nathan Jones. As for the quality of the current squad, let’s look at the 8 additions in January, and base our verdicts on what we have seen of them to date. You can’t judge the keeper, who hasn’t played. Edwardes & Small (both Nathan signings) are a definite upgrade on Tennai & Edun. Gillesphey & Coventry have both showed enough to think they could be decent for us. Thats 4 out of the 8 🤔 Ladapo & Bakinson are poor players. Both have looked unfit & shot to pieces. That leaves Fiorini …about whom the least said the better. If we can stay up this season Nathan Jones deserves a free hand this Summer to re-shape the squad as he sees fit. We have a base of 8/9 players for next season , at most.

Yes, we're five games unbeaten and most believe that many of the January window signings are proving themselves as a distinct upgrade over what we've been watching for a few years. The change in both manager and formation has led to a complete change in the way our games pan out. That error by Isted the other day has become the exception rather than the rule. Our club is clearly in transition and watching a few more games will bring some clarity around how Jones is shaping things up. Let's see where we are at the end of March 😀
