I'm hoping that the Nathan Jones effect rubs off on young Tyreece Campbell. The boy recently has had every bit of confidence knocked out of him. Looking at how confident Kanu and Anderson look, I have high hopes of it rubbing off on young Tyreece. Kanu and Anderson freedom to express. 👏👏

Already you can see a change since the arrival of Jones. Not only are the youngsters looking better but yesterday was the first time for ages that we actually looked like a team. Add to this the u turn he performed with Dobson and the two signings (no doubt they were his choices), Ramsey (shame about his injury) and Small look a step-up on Watson and Edun.

If they have the ability I feel they are now in safe hands.

Not so sure Nathan's magic touch will rub off on Campbell sevenoaks to be honest. I just think he's too lightweight and hasn't got the same potential Anderson and Kanu have.

There's a real danger here of assuming Jones has all the answers and that everything that went before was wrong. Life is never that simple and we should be wary of confirmation bias.
Jones has clearly decided to play at a high intensity and with an aggressive press. On the front foot as he puts it. To implement that style of play he needs players with energy and athleticism, who will run and harry all day, while, arguably, worrying a little less about quality. Many were surprised that Anderson started on Tuesday, but he showed the qualities Jones was looking for in abundance, as did Kanu. That's why they both started again yesterday, why Kanu lasted 86 minutes against the 60 minutes Jones said he'd planned and why Anderson played the full 90 mins plus both yesterday and on Tuesday while Coventry and Dobson were both hooked on 73 minutes yesterday.
Both Anderson and Kanu have been terrific. They've been square pegs in square holes given what Jones was looking for from them and all credit to them. Campbell is a completely different case though. We'd need to see a different game plan, or an evolved game plan, for him to make anywhere near the impact of Anderson and Kanu. He's a very different player.
An enhanced game plan may well be needed mind you. We may have scored three goals yesterday, but we nevertheless again lacked quality in the top third and our XgF suggests that we actually created very few clear cut chances. If we're going to score enough goals to survive Jones is going to need to find a way to increase our creativity. Hopefully, he's building towards that.

Don't think anyone is saying Jones has all the answers, just look at our defence ( can't do a lot with that until next season ) but he does have a good track record with youngsters. He's also got the squad playing as a team after only two games, been awhile since that's happened.

I think you have hit the nail on the head re creativity as we are lacking personnel in that area and will be Nathan's biggest challenge. We didn't create many clear cut chances but it is typical Charlton that we scored 3 away from home and still not win.

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I’m told that Jason Adigun is doing well during his loan at Welling.
Another one for the future?
Scored yesterday

Similarly there was a real danger of considering that the January window was wrong on all counts as results and performances were so poor under Appleton. After a few more games we might wish to consider the defence, the midfield and attacking options / performances. And we have a very focussed lens in that we absolutely need to secure wins against those sides around us in the table. So how sharp is our attack, and how secure/ compact our defence? Assuming we secure the points required to stay up then we can all celebrate survival then watch who is released. As you state, let's not assume that Jones has all of the answers. But he and others may take us to a very different place by September?
