Don’t know how many have been following the Africa Cup of Nations, but I’m sure most people will know that Nigeria play Ivory Coast in Sunday’s final. 

FYI, I thought I’d just note that Nigeria have an interesting Charlton connection. Semi Ajayi has started and finished each of their six matches. According to The Athletic, Ademola Lookman has been their best player, scoring twice in the second round and once in the quarter final in 2-0 and 1-0 wins, respectively. Joe Aribo has been getting minutes of the bench, but did start their third group game. 

Might be interesting to see how they perform on Sunday.

Am I right in thinking that Ivory Coast sacked their manager half way through the competition?!

They did!! Extraordinary isn’t it? Mind you, they had a disastrous group stage and lost their final game to Equatorial Guinea 4-0. In third place in the group with just three points and a goal difference of -3 it looked as they they were out!! They were reprieved, however, as the final of the four third placed teams to advance to the second round!!

I see the Final is being shown at The Valley.

They seem to have forgotten Semi Ajayi though! An oversight or is he persona non grata?!
